@gaymime I tried to add more lines to break up the formless blobs of greens.  I'm not great at editing images, but hopefully you see what I mean.

(Probably could have gone a bit darker on the lines, but I had forgot to make a layer to adjust :P  If you switch between this picture and the previous one, you will notice that the ground is a little sharper, like you put your glasses on.  That was my intention.)

 

I think with the shading you added to the path and the extra shade on the grass, it really starts to pull together.  Klei will revise this texture hopefully.

I incorrectly put the tags PvP and Dating Sim there to demonstrate before revoking them. I immediately see them because I set them, and if enough other people agreed with me and also set those wrong tags, then they would show up in the popular user-defined tags thing.

All the tags are people guessing. It's you guys, not Klei.

In the trailer we see Wendy use an umbrella to safely float down off a hillside, but later in the trailer we also see her set up some spring-like contraption to hop across a River of rushing water.

My brain: I wonder if I can combine Springy Things with Umbrellas to effectively become Mary Poppins during a boss fight.

Not quite right. There is an initial set of tags provided by the developers. Those tags can be usurped, but a lot of times that doesn't happen. Sourced from here.

Okay so I’m back with more ideas for this new game.. After slowly rewatching the trailer and seeing Wendy float safely down hill with an Umbrella… I now want THIS as a real thing in the new game.

Before you say it would make Wes to Op, remember it’s not too hard for him to get his hands on an umbrella and achieve the same results as Wendy (im assuming all characters can do it but it would be HILARIOUS if only light weight characters can and Wolfgang just plummets face first) 

Anyway.. you may be asking why not just use an Umbrella as Wes then right? Well I’m so glad you asked! Wes’s bad luck would mean his umbrella gets ripped with holes or struck by lightning bolts, but a hand crafted Balloon? That’s 100% Wes! It just gives him a unique way of doing it.

Another thing I would like to bring up is the “Pinball like Porcupines” that bounce off Willows face in the trailer, it would be soooooo cool if there was cave entrances that was blocked off and could not be mined open, the only way to bust these passages open is by kiting the rolling porcupine creatures into smashing it open for you.

I am sooooo ready for Don’t Starve Elsewhere! ♥️

to be fair i've seen tumbler...."dating sim" is not entirely inapplicable XD

Small thing I just noticed!! In the clip where Willow is seen swimming towards the boat you can see her speaking and moving at the same time!! That's so cool!!! Seems like you don't have to stop and examine things to hear their voices anymore!

It's really funny that no one noticed this until now, considering that the trailer thoroughly disassembled by everyone into frames:D

I don't think it is an examination quote. It seems to be a announce quote which we already have in DST and already works while moving.

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding! What I meant is that you can hear the character's voice while they're moving! Willow's mouth moves and you can hear her voice while she's walking around! In DST characters can announce stuff, yes, but if you're moving around, the character's audio won't play! (you can examine/announce stuff while moving in DST and all you'll see is the character's text above them, but Elsewhere seems to have changed that!)

to be fair noone noticed the backpacks either to the point where someone even mentioned integrated inventory

Judging by the start of the trailer i think its safe to assume its the spawn location for the players, the way I imagine it it starts un-cracked before the player spawns in from a lighting bolt, creating that crater.
Similar to touch stones I suppose? It is a very strange structure altogether, Frankly it looks more like something out of cult of the lamb

Well guys the 2026 roadmap was disappointing when it comes to news on DSE, I was hoping for at least a few new screenshots, maybe confirmation of who is playable, how many players the game will support etc..

In the screen-shots and trailers we only see four characters on screen at any given time, so has it gone down from 6 to just 4 in favor of a bigger more vibrant and content rich world? (I would be okay with that)

and also we never see any duplicate characters used in any of the screen-shots or the announcement trailer and while I find it will probably be highly unlikely… it would be an interesting gameplay dynamic if DSE was limited to only being allowed to have one of each type of playable character.

We wouldn’t have six Wolfgang’s doing double damage all at once, (assuming he’s even in the game) and it would make character choice more important & personalized, which in return: Could mean giving them more unique abilities, gadgets that sort of thing that puts them into a specific “role” within the game.

But unfortunately because no new details were given on DSE in the roadmap (understandable by the way!) all we the players can do is speculate at this point.

Just a simple “yes you can pick multiple of the same character” or “no, we’re limiting character choices to only allowing one of each type to try something NEW with Multiplayer in DSE”

That would’ve given us the answer.

Im sure the 6 spikes in the place where wilson spawns in the trailer represent the 6 players

I was also somewhat upset by the lack of news about DSE (although the overall roadmap was encouraging with the release of the wx78 skill tree), but I just hope that they will provide all the news DSE for the anniversary

Personally, I was happy about this, because I always found it strange when players chose the same characters (although there was nothing particularly wrong with that).

Since this thread is for screenshots and overall discussion of DSE, I’d like to *briefly talk about the holiday snowman event that exists in DST. Where We can collect “snowballs” on the ground and roll those into bigger snowballs.

But when it comes to this new DSE game I really hope the “rolling” animation will return that was used for this limited time DST Holiday event for something like pushing & rolling circular boulders along the ground to solve puzzles.
