Took these screenshots to discuss and speculate about the new game. Lets get this hype train going. Feel free to post better/additional screenshots as I did these in a hurry on my phone.

New map traversal, does Willow have a pet?

Wendy overpowering gravity through sheer spitefulness (umbrella). Goats?

A variety of plants. Seem to be dependent of the season or biome (seasons change the resources available?)

potato men? Almost look like Wx-78. Willow is stabbing with the spear.

Cave spider aboveground, seems the animals of the constant will be more involved with their biomes? Wendy once again using spite to defy gravity (spring traversal).

Giant porcupines, Im assuming these creatures can also traverse the different layers of the map.

Second layer of the castle? I wonder if the castle will be some sort of dungeon?

Lots to speculate about and I'm really curious about what others can speculate and come up with. Help me spike my bloodpressure until I combust.

I take it as new game, new thing with the dont starve name. Its a lot to take in and theyre trying new things. Im excited to give it a chance and see all the stuff they want to experiment with. Including the new art!

I did not get to see if the new game has an actual “Jump” Button, it has elevated platforms of land and that’s cool but elevated land needs a “Jump” button too so we can do cool stuff such as leap between platforms of land, or jump over an incoming enemy Lazer beam attack.

In that giant bat clip it looks like they are walking on ankle-level water, i always thought the water in dst was very weird and didnt lead to many interactions (like ponds whole purpose is fish) but in this game it looks more important

"Swim across rushing rivers and tumoltuous seas" they didnt show any sea stuff or how boats will work (either shipwrecked or dst) but i hope they do it well

I like it. The character art style is looking more like in the shorts and character portraits and fits the new more darker environment. It's only slightly different from DST, so I don't have any problems with it.

It’s actually dolls. Zombie dolls. More specifically the ones with the floppy mouths like the one from goosebumps

Dolls seem like a big theme

the environments look like theyre at least partial 3D? (in the sense that theyre not just 2d props; im looking at the walls in the gorge looking segment, i think the weird spinning camera movement is attempting to show that off)

it looks so prettyyyyyyyyy

wait... a second... we don't know who willow is related to come to think of it since we saw her in the orphanage...

I have some concerns when it comes to DST and DSE mainly with the whole skill tree portion. Is DSE going to include them? If yes then the game is going to release in a few years which... why reveal the game now? If no then how will the character balance be? Are they losing skill trees but getting some (or all) of the stuff baseline? Cheffg mentioned they hope DSE is DST:Don'tStarve edition while DST is DST:RPG Edition which I really liked and hope this game focuses more on survival than the boss killing of DST.

The bosses we've seen so far look like DS bosses and not like the raid bosses of DST so there's that to add to that theory. Though if there were raid bosses maybe they are too plot relevant to show.

One of tags says it's rouglite so might more action oriented?

Okay so I’m not sure who else has thought of this yet but with the new game having elevated platforms of land that means that we have something more closely resembling the game “FallGuys”

now hear me out before you consider that reference weird, Fallguys is a game about jumping and climbing elevated platforms.

FallGuys has levels such as rushing to reach higher points of land than the rising pink goo.

It also has walls or floor holes with safe spots to hide between to avoid incoming traps 

aka think of the iconic Indiana jones scene where he hides in a narrow passage to avoid being crushed by a giant Boulder.

Or of how in FallGuys you can quickly jump into lower areas of floor to avoid being hit by an obstacle that’s rolling by overhead (usually a giant pretzel 😂)

Or having Spiked walls that enclose in on the player.

This is what this new Don’t Starve game is capable of….

And I’m honestly not sure who has realized that yet. 
 
it’s time to properly get Hyped this is Next Gen Don’t Starve.
