Гринд ради гринд. В любом случае, никакого логического завершения лунных квестов, просто повторное использование уже существующих боссов и функций, "позаимствованных" из Steam Workshop. Какое похабное обновление, лол

Klei Fest can't be moved. We have some extra things we needed to do for the update that moved things around a bit content-wise (server work and controller work). We're probably looking at some additional stuff coming after Klei Fest.

server work yippee <3 thank you for listening

dev fatigue. It happens when you work on a title for a decade+, it's understandable and inevitable.

I wouldn't say that sounds quite right. For one, it's not the same team as it was in the beginning; many devs have come and gone since 2014. Additionally, I may just be being optimistic, but I wouldn't say the DST team feels fatigued in that sense? I might not always like the direction the game is going in, but I don't think they'd have such big, ambitious ideas if they were growing tired of the game.

... tho maybe you could argue that such fatigue is why DST is moving farther and farther away from survival + putting more emphasis on combat and bosses each update

'Server work' makes me slightly hopeful about acknowledging bug reports that are still pending. I just really hope my interpretation of this comment is the right one.

I trust you guys a lot so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but it is scary to have this launch so early, and I hope it "being out" doesn't result in brushing past it onto the next update when improvements can be made

I'd also like to personally, as someone looking forward to the new geometric setting,  please please urge you to take into consideration everything that is said here:

by maxil (legend). as it can very much make or break the setting's existence IMO

Good luck on the launch, as always, much love.

the beta's ended? wow, crazy.
anyways i have some questions :3
how are we supposed to fight W.A.R.B.O.T and the celestial scion again to get "their" drops again for multiple people. just like how we can get the celestial crown for more than 1 person. but apparently wagstaff is being taken, and noody's talking about it, afaik.

I'm a little disappointed but at least we know more will come after Klei Fest. I was in particular interested in lunar hail and drying rack update, but I don't mind a wait, priorities are first to come.

I'll assume much of dev resources took were Scion and Pearl's relocator after people backlashed. At least one part was resolved.

By the way, I feel like after some cleanup on some bugs and the new update, the last two things I'd want for QoL are the drying rack and jerky update as well as gestures wheel. Otherwise my QoL wishlist of things is kinda complete. Honestly, good job on that, Klei devs! It may have only taken a decade and I'm growing a beard but we finally have those things xD Joking, love y'all.

Pretty surprising for the finale of the entire lunar storyline to be so rushed out, especially after getting such a good product from Walter’s skill tree as an example of what Klei devs can do when they focus on polishing their work even if that takes more time. I get that development will continue after Klei Fest, but…then what makes it a real update at all, if it’s mostly unfinished?

Klei, I'm begging you, please reconsider this decision while there's still time. It doesn't have to be like that. There's plenty of room in the ocean to fit a new island.

Like, if people have been saying this for the whole beta and Klei didn't change it, then it's obvious there's some other reason it's like this, yeah? There's a reason they are choosing not to add an unrelated island for this take place on.

Then I would simply like to know this reason why it has to be this way yet there's just silence. It hasn't been addressed by any of the devs and it feels very frustrating to see so many people upset with this change and voicing their opinions about it to be straight up ignored.

The reason being their self-imposed deadline which is none the fault of any beta participant.

Nobody needed or wanted this out for thursday other than klei apparently.

I feel this way with so many things. I have a lot of dislike for many of the recent patches, and all of it would be alleviated if we just got design philosophy. Knowing why a developer does something is more than enough to satisfy me, even if I disagree with it.

Weird analogy: It is like intentionally breaking your leg. Many people will look and ask why. It is more upsetting to not get an answer than to say, "It was itchy, and now it doesn't itch." I think at least.

Exciting news for the new game announcement and all Klei things, loved what I've seen from the Prehistoric Planet Pack so far.

But for what DST is concerned about the upcoming update, I have to agree with what's being said here to a certain degree. It's surprising to read that the update is ready to be shipped when there was so much more looked forward for from the feedback in the beta.

Sure the bosses got the most of the attention and that is completely normal and I think they will deliver ! (especially WARBOT, Scion I still think could've gotten more agressive) But what of the rest ? We've been hoping for small islands to build and cope from the loss of Pearl's Island. We need configs to tune down screen overlays like Enlightenment and many others, the game gives headaches to people, please you've made this the whole boss loot. And we're still not getting freedom of placing things around items or birds, it shouldn’t have been only two of their states I seriously don't get why this isn't dealt with once and for all :(

But then again I understand you would all wish you had more time. It’s already a big update, but also a worrying one not knowing how much of a conclusion that really is and means for the future. Guess we'll see.

Oh wow that was a quick one....

Love all the QoL stuff but the boss feels a bit unfinished... specially the Scion. The boss feels kinda of slow. I think compared to CC the difficulty evolution for the "conclusion" is not quite there yet. I am curious to see how this is gonna shape up moving forward.

The reason is probably because the update's animated short was finished before the beta even went live.

What about the post-victory events? Will they happen? Do they really exist? Did I miss something? Were they purposely not in the beta? But if they weren't tested then it can't be anything very relevant right? How can this be the conclusion of a major story arc???

A bit sized updates once in a 2-3 months and somehow  they are not even half baked by the time they release live. Maybe thats why Klei refuse to share DST roadmap with us? Does it even exists? One of the biggest story related update chain finale is supposed to release tomorrow but its literally reused altar guardian with a boring new additions and phase 4 I guess, and guess what? even all that stuff not finished lmao. Oh, and dont forget about cntrl c + cntrl v QoL mods from workshop. Enjoy the sliop fellas

I just talked about this in the beta post, like… are they really not going to deliver even what they said about the current update??? I can understand now why they didn’t make a roadmap — they simply couldn’t commit to a single line from that post? This update, without the promised post-victory events, feels really small to me. It’s like if the Great Depth Worm update was just the worm — except the worm actually interacts more with my game than a post-endgame boss that apparently leads to nothing?
The only thing coming out of this beta is the boss, which, judging by people’s reactions, is half-baked too sooo???????????
