[Game Update] - 512254

Changes:

  • Powder Monkeys will prioritise items on the ground over chests and they will now just empty chests instead of busting them.
  • Map zoom sensitivity advanced option has a new default value of 20 and the maximum cap raised to 60.
  • Chat auto completion text will now display on top of the chat.
  • The Grass Raft will now take damage when an attack tries to put a leak in the raft.
  • Powder Monkeys will no longer try to grab irreplaceable items but they will still knock them around.
  • Polly Rogers will no longer pick up irreplaceable items.
  • Polly Rogers will no longer trigger spider webs.
  • Wonkey idle animations have been added to the collections screen.
  • Ocean Trawler open and closing interaction range extended.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a typo preventing Palmcone Saplings from growing.
  • Fixed a typo in the Wortox speech file.
  • Fixed being unable to build docks and structures near the Unnatural Portal.
  • Monkey boats that escape will stash the loot properly
  • Pirate Stash save bug fixed.
  • Reading a Pirate Map won’t remove the whole stack now.
  • Boat magnets animations when unpairing retract smoothly.
  • Accursed Trinkets are no longer tradable.
  • Ocean Trawlers will no longer crash trying to catch fish out of water.
  • Minisigns will now properly render some missing icons.
  • Pirate Sloops that have their Prime Mate removed won’t disappear when the player moves out of range now.
  • Prime Mate’s carry Accursed Trinkets.
  • Removed unused TUNING references for piratespawner component.
  • Less rubberbanding when running as Wonkey.
  • Fixed odd behaviour with ghosts on a Monkey controlled boat.
  • Fixed carpet turfs going invisible when pitchforked up.
  • Fixed a bug sometimes causing the ocean to appear all black when joining a world.
  • Fixed several bugs relating to transforming between characters.
    • If you still have bugs with the new changes, please re-report them so we can keep track of new issues.
  • Fixed a memory corruption issue relating to world physics.
  • Fixed a bug causing all oars to have the same row force.
  • Fixed Prime Mate tails disappearing in certain animations.
  • Fixed Light Crab animation errors.

nooo the grass raft is actually balanced!!! noooo! 

jokes aside, this is a good balancing change. it was basically invincible to sea weeds and cookie cutters before

I was wondering why they were taking so long to grow...

 

me too… then i enabled Insight and watched as the growth timer went to zero and it didnt grow… i thought it needed to be on the right turf or something lol

Can Grass Raft still be immune to cookie cutters? Like as in.. The mob will be Passive to this type of boat and won’t attack it unless they’re attacked?

They want to eat WOOD and the Grass Raft isn’t Wood. :wilson_love:

Since the monkeys curse you before they die, could they come back as ghosts to haunt you?

Like do they spawn pirate ghosts when they die?

Nothing difficult just ordinary ghosts with the appearance of a pirate monkey...

I just started to miss shipwerked ghosts now...

If you disagree, just laugh... in despair.

Here’s a suggestion too tiny for its own thread:

Given their crustacean nature, I think it’d make more sense for crustashines to drop a fish morsel rather than a meaty one.

Add maybe an order switch for Polly to nor pickup items to act as partially vanity creature by ordering them or using the hat to tell them to stop doing it. Some of us like the hat and wanna not have our bases robbed by ourselves when placing items just for decorational use ^^

You could always destroy Above Average Trees. It would be pretty bad if you couldn't.

And yeah, that's probably because the waterlogged biome uses the "waterlog" tile instead of [whatever the shallow ocean tile is called), and docks can only be planted on shallow ocean tiles.

I just didn't even think of that idea. I thought with a shot I could get the seed but I just destroyed it :C

but I really like that now you can make such bases and you can plant a bunch of trees and build docks around

You can only get Tree Nuts from the Great Tree Trunk in the Waterlogged biome.

I love how without context a returning player would probably think this was a new naturally occurring biome needless to say I love this update so much.

Just explosives. Not nuts.
Also you can't get nuts to fall on trees since they only drop from the GIANT trees which you can't build docks by.
