I love them to bits and adore them, this update has been sealed as one of, if not my absolute favorite updates ever. Though while I adore and love the Varglets how they are now, I noticed some users saying they stuck out a bit. I went ahead and did my own take on the Varglets. The one with teeth was just a test and I don't really like it but the other one I had changed to be more in line with the art quality that Vargs have, which I'm proud of. I'm super curious on how people feel about the changes if want to know if they think Klei should try and make subtle changes such as these. The one with regular teeth looks a tiny bit strange, but that's to be expected when hounds usually have weird hair teeth. Mantispidae Posted March 18, 2022 Share Posted March 18, 2022 Mixed feelings, because theres some artistic choices that stand out on their own but make sense in the context of other things: for example the big pink nose stands out but when you look at the vargling pet it makes more sense:Â Since there was already a varg "puppy" the design is pretty clearly meant to be an in-between for vargling to varg, so things like that I would like to stay because it's a pretty neat detail (although maybe darken them a tad, they're pretty bright pinks). That said, aspects like the more scratchy "hatching" for the fur could help it not look flatter in comparison to the hounds it shows up with and probably make things flow a bit better- I would just be careful to not darken the fur too much with it so that it doesn't blend into the normal hounds either. Would love the loremaster and artists to do a comic with Wickerbottom explaining a lufecycle. I'm a big fan of the idea of giving Varglet a deeper shade, which will make it look more in line with Hound and Varg family style. BTW, am I the only one whose front image of Varglet looks like it has a hole in its jaw?
