babba
I would love a road map For roads: Bulldozer, 6 wheel mining machine, bicycles, fire engine, concrete mixer, road signs, hover boards and roadrunner... meqmeq Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/137113-new-2022-roadmap/#findComment-1535258 Share on other sites

Alexander Block
Spaced Out simplest achievement did as much as one of the most difficult and pointless achievements of the main game. It seems to me that the DLC sold very badly :-(. People played vanila and forgot. There was no promotion of an dlc or something like that. Those achievements were only added recently. Players who played in early access (which currently is the vast majority of them) will not have those achievements, because the achievements did not exist when they did those things. WhiteWind36
So the number of ONI players is declining? Is that what you are saying? I also did notice that many of achievements have very little percentage of people who completed it. Did those numbers was refreshed or what? For example "morale high ground" and "carnivore"... I don't think these achievement is newly added. Alexander Block
@WhiteWind36 Although I play at maximum difficulty, I don't make achievements on purpose. I eat as much food as I want, use the energy sources I want, and fly in space as much as I need (less than 10 cycles). But some achievements are difficult not to do if you play. pether
In my current game I didn't recive any achievements, probably because I enabled debug mode by accident (I did nothing with it but probably game assumed that achievements must be disabled for me). So please, add +1 to that 1,5% Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/137113-new-2022-roadmap/#findComment-1535314 Share on other sites
DolphinWing
Home Sweet Home requires 20 dupes. I only do it once because I tend to have less dupes in my base and I send 4 to The Great Escape. For my other plays, I setup my own goal and it has no Steam achievements. Sometimes you only do it one time and you never want to do them again. Well me either, although I do dedicated one colony only for carnivore achievement, and in one colony I was avoiding planting any plants to get locavore and in the same run, I did manage to get super-sustainable. So there was those 3 achievements, for which I get out of my comfort zone and do something different only for getting achievement. With all others - just like you said - it's just happens when you play. Although there's still research reactor to be built and tubular achievement - these two also is not likely to be done without going for it. I'm usually not using tubes at all, and don't see a reason to use them, besides getting the achievement. Also similar with achievement where you must have autosweeper to do more deliveries than dupes. I still didn't had enough automated base to do that. babba
On sales... Keeping track and guessing how well or bad a dlc is performing is kind of hard IMHO, as there is also bundle-sales. On a good rated base game there is normally a lot of bundle buyers, which buy a base game together with all its associated dlc`s. We can only pray and hope for the best Klei could also resort to bundle up the current base game with its dlcs, add a lot of new game content and then sell it as ONI2...but as long Klei does not communicate any news, its looks either like DLC2 or nothing...for babba. Hopefully we know more someday Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/137113-new-2022-roadmap/#findComment-1535343 Share on other sites

Alexander Block
I hope (and it seems that it is) that Tencent gives money and receives part of the profit, but does not interfere with the work. Gurgel
Well, in the past, Klei has had phases with high visible activity and phases were stuff went on behind the scenes but we had the impression nothing was happening. I still remember when I posted this (the picture is _not_ mine) : I think ONI is not something they will give up. It is far too good for that and it is in a sense a "timeless" game. babba
A profile picture would be wonderful, but no pressure dear @Alexander Block The ONI roadmap "shortlist" I will never forget the day I went to past the bakery and saw a picture of Sponge Bob for the first time, where the bakery was advertising the sale of Sponge Bob cakes....But I did not go inside, biggest fail and regret of my life ! 15 hours ago, cpy said: Roadmap 2022: nothing Roadmap: 2023 hopefully ONI 2: framerates now included! Sasza22
From what i remember ONI was getting roadmaps in the middle of the year rather than at the beginning like DST. This time around since we didn`t have one for a while it would be cool to see one. On the other hand the devs need some time to work without a deadline, it allows them to try things they wouldn`t attempt otherwise like reworking/fixing non-flashy stuff that needs attention but isn`t new content. I`d gladly give them a few more months before they announce their further plans for the game. Even more if they were to announce the next dlc. pether
Klei just had full year of 3-week-deadline updates. Sure, deadlines boost motivation to complete things, but sometimes creative process needs some time to ponder, experiment, try things out. Now when they released DLC, they can take things more slowly, implement those ideas that were too risky for 3-week windows, check if those work out or not. This way we will have much cooler things added to the game, just a little bit later As much as I'd love to get MOAR conent asap, I prefer that content to live up to DLC and previous Packs creative quality. Between ONI release (July 2019) and first content Pack (November 2019) there was 4-month break from adding new content. I'd expect next Free Content Pack around April, then maybe 2nd in the 2nd half of the year. I don't think anybody from Klei will say "DLC2" this year and even if they said in December they are thinking of it we won't see EA before LATE 2023 And that's OK, let them do things their way, so far I'm satisfied with the results Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/137113-new-2022-roadmap/#findComment-1535490 Share on other sites
JoeW
Part of the process of writing the roadmap is actually making the plan. We just came out of a launch for the DLC, so the planning is a little more intense than usual. A roadmap should be coming out in the next couple days, or early next week. That`s great news, many thanks for communicating. Sadly, the game still sometimes crashes here - IMHO the game is still not as stable as it was in December 2020, just before the dlc testing. In that month I did not have a single crash at all, for me it was the best and most stable ONI month ever. They probably added a piece of code that checks if it is January and if so - crashes the game. Just to make sure we will take some break from hardcore gaming and focus on real life for some time And to be serious - my game was quite stable until I reached high cycle count, maybe that's why your December games were more stable? The more buildings and dupes you have the higher chance that the game fails to compute something Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/137113-new-2022-roadmap/#findComment-1535634 Share on other sites
babba
Good morning ONinam ! The December 2020 build was so stable for me, because I was also in contact with squiggle back then and he fixed several crash bugs in record time. I did not have less going on in my saves back then and was living with certain crashes for 3 years...squiggle fixed them all in a few days - It would be great if Klei could work a few more weeks on submitted bug reporter crash bugs of players. All the ( own ) ONI memes and cuteness can raise spirits and bring up ideas, the forum is really nice with its cheerful people. There is a lot of other game forums where people redrum others typing anything, especially on war game forums. Some fire and explosions in the game would be great, but having no weapons in a game attracts a much nicer audience. I would love it if sparks, ignition, explosions and spreading fires + fire fighting would be part of the dlc2 road map This would also allow the "build" community to construct and simulate motors. I used to have a giant static caravan where I threw out the gas boiler, after insulating and electric re cabling the entire thing - That work was in a way similar to playing ONI, laying cables and making plans how to temperature insulate and at the same time having fresh low humidity air inside. The caravan used to consume 200 £ Pounds worth of gas bottles per month, heating it to 20 Celsius...after the insulation refurbishment it was 30 £ Pounds of electricity ( mounted infrared heating ) for 20 Celsius inside. I built an Iglu fresh air pipe convection system for the caravan, it was great fun. I think the game can help people to understand thermodynamics and heat transmission, inspire logic thinking and people can have a laugh at the dupe situations. ONI can be educational and some people feel restrict in life, in the game they can do whatever they like. Its like playing with trains...BTW Trains and little attached dupe carriages in the game would be ace... @degr Tuuuuut tuuuuuuuuut !
