I hope you changes spool system. It is ridiculous.

When I want to spool decent skins, it cost me 450 ~ 1350 spools per item. But when I unravel them it gives me only 5 ~ 450 spools. That includes cash items. Do you guys think this is okey?

I get the point, if I want more spools fast for items, I got to buy cash items and have to unravel it. Unscrupulous aside, I don't know why I should unravel items even though I already bought it. If you want to make users to use their spools more, just sell it. FYI, Unraveling items it is not good experience in DST. Why that is? Like I said, it gives us too little spools. It also not fun to do it. And if a user got a lot of duplicated items to unravel, it costs time and energy of users. Plus, there is stress from the fact that even though unraveling a lot of items it only returns so little spools. Do you really thinks this is making good UX? This is wrong, CHANGE IT.

I been had same kinds of stupidity from other games from other productions. Eventually, it drives users out and I left. Don't make DST is the next game.

P.S. Please change gift system too. Do you really have to give same items users already owned again and again? At least increase the rate of good items.

its fine as it is. I also don't like when you can pay for skins in full-price game, but its just skins - all gameplay content (except characters) is free.

dahecc

I have 1000+ hours and I still don't own like half of all skins

I agree with you. But the system is not user friendly.

The results are in! And it looks like mostly nobody agree's with you!, "Cash Items" are not Cash Items, you can weave them just the same. Instead of complaining about this you should be content with the fact that you can unravel these to begin with. They aren't unravelable so you buy them just for spools. Skins should not be 1:1, thats logic, common sense, and gives spools more worth. If I could pop into a server make 12 pickaxes with a skin, and swap the skin out for an axe skin and keep doing the same, you essential have all the skins for the price of 1!

Furthermore complaining will only result in them making purchasable skins unweavable, they did it to the Terraria skins that you cant even buy, so for the sake of the other 90-99.9% of people, shut up so we can keep unraveling skins we bought in a bundle we dont want.

If anything you should have made an argument about making spools purchaseable to combat people spending more money then they need to on spools but hey, not my thread

I see. I think weaving items we want is fine, but unraveling to do so is not cool. And it requires time to do it.

do you know this is a bussiness, right?

Yes. That's why I said, just sell the spools. Don't make users to unravel it. :)

You use spools to either weave skins or characters. The time the developers take to make nice skins is just a nice extra step to make things/characters aesthetically pleasing, but they're absolutely not essential to game play. As far as the characters go, they're not meant to be given away like candy (people shell out cash to buy them). The spool system itself is just to "reward" players for their loyalty - that's about it (not meant to be sold for cash). Not sure what else to tell you buddy. If you really want a skin, you could just buy it. You expect to be just handed everything?

...it's a bit messy, but the system's fair, at least. You can always sell the non-woven-rarity items on the market for more like them, or if you end up with some of the more valuable ones, sell them for enough to get a full skin pack.
The trick is to let the skins come as they come. Don't worry about completion; just set spools aside over time for the things you like.

Same applies to any other lootbox/gacha system like this.

They actually did this (I believe back in 2019 - if someone wants to find the post and link it for me feel free). You also only used to be able to get 4 gifts a week (for play time). They increase that to 8 gifts a week for play time and they added a daily gift (15 drops a week). The drop rates are much better now than they used to be and I think it's fair. Personally I found even opening the daily gift every day I've gotten an elegant about once a month (maybe a little less, but I still that's good). They've also added Twich drops too along with other yearly free gifts (like Hallowed nights costume challenge). They give a ton of skins away for free considering skins is basically how they make their money from DST.

1 thing i hate is having to unrevel every pants, every skirts, every shirts one by one. They made a QOL that if you have >2 of the same skin, you can unrevel them all duplicates of the ONE skin. Why not an option to unrevel all the duplicates you have?

Just keep up with what's you get. Sort by amount, unravel what you can't put in the trade inn and sell whatever's tradeable. I find it easy at the beginning of every session to click a random character and go through every category and clean up after the previous session. Or even fresh after one.

No. But I also don't like to unravel EVERY extra items for few spool.

When you unravel an item it provides you 5 ~ 450 spools and when you want to weave item it requires you 450 ~ 1350 spools. I don't agree this is fair. But thanks.

Yes. I can use the function. But the problem is, I got to use the function for every items I owned.

You can buy skins you want using money in shop, if it's not available at shop buy skin at steam market. That's how money works.

Few items you can’t buy from store. Some items requires to use spools.

If it wasn't lossy it would result in an increased surplus, which is already the case because we allow people to purchase items too. We have to consider the actual spool economy, especially when we like to give away a lot of items. We give away A LOT of items and spool.

The way it works is that you should want more than we give you and that if you do want it, and you think it's worth it, then you buy the stuff that you want. However, we try to give you a pretty decent amount of stuff so that if you want to buy anything, you still get a decent amount of items for free. And if you don't like THOSE items, you can sacrifice them and get something very specific that you want, again for free.

If anything, the problem you are having is that the "surprise" of the gift here can often be a letdown because the item itself is often a common item. But you kind of need this to get the excitement of the cool elegant item as well.

The alternative to this would be something like a battlepass, which I don't think is a better system. Especially when it would have to be entirely time based....

What would the point of the random drop system be if you could just unravel anything into an item of equivalent value? Actually, what would the point of unlocking items even be? Whenever you aren't using an item you could just turn it into a different one. As soon as you have one set of skins you have every skin in the game.
