splorange Posted October 26, 2021 Share Posted October 26, 2021 One of my favorite parts about hallowed nights is the skins, I absolutely adore almost every costume and if I were to make a list of my favorite skins most of them would most likely top place. However, there's one "feature" of every one of these skins that disappoints me. The paid versions of the costumes skin require a torso piece along with the elegant skin to complete the set, and most of the interesting designs of the skins are tied to the torso. But why is this an issue? Because the paid versions of the skins require the torso slot be taken with the respective costume, and this destroys a lot of the creativity that can be seen with the fee versions of the skins. Examples can be seen down below. Since Wortox's tail and hooves are tied to the torso slot, he's unable to wear anything other than the correct costume top because it'll give you the standard hooves and tail, which frankly makes the skin look unappealing. Krampus Maxwell comes with great looking chains on his wrists, however he loses them if he wears anything else. There's dozens of more examples of this, and it's unfortunate that one of my favorite skin combinations is basically tied to the hallowed nights event despite paying for the skin just because the paid versions don't represent the free versions. I'm really hoping Klei comes up to a solution to this, what is everyone else's thoughts on this? -Variant Posted October 26, 2021 Share Posted October 26, 2021 I've noticed this since the first costume set rolled around, I had made a suggestion to keep it/work it in and it went unnoticed. I absolutely love this, it happens with every other set like this where its all bunched up into 1 slot. I'd love if they somehow found a way to keep the entire sets as skins to be used year round. Or add in additional slots for tails/cuffs, like they did with beards. Being able to mix and attach tails with any of Wortoxs'/Wurts' tails while also being able to equip other pelvis items would be a dream. Including the cuff slot, a number of torso cosmetics come with cuffs I'd love to use in additional outfits. Krampwell/Shadow Wolfgang/Flouncy dress for example. It's possible the sprites are all there! TLDR: Either a way to keep the full set on or additional outfit slots for tail/cuff sprites would be a dream! I saw a neat one with Walter and his Bee costume, with the stinger being applied to other outfits as well. Terra B Welch Posted October 26, 2021 Share Posted October 26, 2021 I dunno if it's just me but I've also noticed the paid versions have a lower quality(are slightly blurrier) then the free versions. Example of of the free lureplant costume vs heirloom elegant wendyflower head, if you pay close attention you'll see the heirloom elegant wendyflower head is slightly blurrier. (You'll have to look closely, it's a very small difference) (I also recall the dark circles under the free version of the skin being different from the paid version but I think that might've been changed?) Mike23Ua Posted October 26, 2021 Share Posted October 26, 2021 I kinda want tails to have their own customization slot that can be applied to Any character not just the ones that have tails.. it would be an optional clothing slot, you can equip a tail or remove the tail.. I mean: We can customize Beefalo tails now so.. why not? Basically, my idea was to use the ensemble system to reward players who have both parts with the ability to wear them both in just the head slot. The suggestion can be found here. But lets be honest these shots are taken from the menus, does it really matter in game when you can barely see the difference anyway? Guarantee if you made this comparison in game where it matters, most people wouldn't be able to spot a difference without you pointing it out. This feels like more of an OCD thing than anything and i doubt many people agree, even in this echo chamber of a subforum let alone the gen playerbase so don't expect a fix anytime soon. Anyone bothered by how you cant use Wormwoods different hands without utilizing the whole arm? Because the whole arm has a blooming effect, it end up cutting off the sleeves of clothing when I just want the hands... When I complain about anything I at least try to be logical & reasonable about it Maybe it’s just my astrology sign, I’m Gemini so I try to find logic in everything.. and see all points of view. (There’s a reason our astrology sign is quite literally Gemini twins) I may not always be 100% accurate in what I post because I don’t know the in’s and out’s of the game or how things are programmed to work.. but I shouldn’t be heavily criticized for not knowing those things either. I try to provide input that’s based upon the best of my own known knowledge- and if that knowledge is Inaccurate then I’m sorry okay? All anyone can do is try.. JoeW said to keep this on topic so can you guys please do that? I personally like the idea Dr Safety brought up about allowing Halloween costumes to be an Ensemble going into just the head slot if you own the full set of cosmetics for it. Basically the “free limited time version” becomes permanently unlocked for you if you own all parts in that set. This is something I would love to see in a future QoL and not just for Hallowed Nights skins, WintersFeast Ones would be great as Well.
