Marble walls

This is a really simple request, the addition of buildable marble pillars to act like walls. We have hay, wood, rock, thulecite and even moon walls, why not marble.

From a base building stand point, they would add alot to a decor and would look really cool. Plus they would be in the white palette compare to the other wall colors.

From a defense stand point, they could be a higher tier then stone wall.

It's just a shame that such beautiful pillars are so rare and not that much seen in the base game.

Also the recipe shouldn't be as crazy as moon stone wall, since farming marble can be a real grind.

Finally if it's not a new wall option per say, having a similar skin for the rock walls would be really appreciated.

Moon glass walls

I know glass isn't the best material to protect yourself with, but those walls would be a bit different then the other walls.

-Have same health as wood wall

-They would deal a small damage back to the attacker. Like thorn damage. Would be usefull against hounds.

-And finally, they would  have a chance to repel shadow creature or to prevent them from walking trough them.

-With that last perk in mind, shadow creatures would be able to attack those walls to try and get to a player that is inside. They would take extra damage from the walls.

Your thoughts ?

I'm fine with both, not like people actually use walls for defense or fortification, mostly for decorations and aesthetic reasons. All though the chance of the glass walls repelling shadow creatures sounds interesting, not entirely sure if Shadow Pieces or Fuelweaver count into their book, if they do the walls could have potential cheese.

Shadow Creatures already avoid walking through walls, they just walk through them if there's no other way from A to B or if the wall is too big.

Low Durability, dealing damage back to the attacker: That + 'no damage from Bramble Traps' might fit more into Wormwood's arsenal.

To be honest I was very surprised back in the day, (and currently) that marble walls weren't available. You think with the armor that follows The Tier System of Toughness would translate over to the walls. They sorta do with the grass and but I don't know anyone who would use wood for a wood wall. I don't know that's just my opinion. However having two flammable flimsy walls is 2 too many if you ask me. I think this game is wonderful and it would be very cool to see more of the artwork in a way. You know?

As for the glass walls... Wouldn't that mean you couldn't throw rocks? :^)

YEEEEEESSS especially to the marble walls, as that's been a material that existed in DS/T from almost the beginning, and even though real marble has been a BUILDING material for thousands of years in real life, all we've ever been able to do with it is..._wear_ it?

I TOTALLY could've used marble walls being a thing whlie making my "ruins" for the Builder's Project just recently. That would've SO worked, thematically and visually!   I've...never gotten why buildable marble walls aren't a thing in this game.

Well, we EVENTUALLY got gate and fences after years of wondering why we didn't have _those_, so...here's hoping!  (crosses fingers)

I do like the idea of moon glass walls blocking out shadow creatures! It makes sense to me anywho considering moon glass' efficiency against shadows.

oh.. I remember that setpiece.. we had to place some items like rabbits, gems, nightmare fuel etc in that chest and we got some "chest and walking cane" skins

yup.. and 2 damaged bishops, plus if you know how long each "phase" lasts, you should have no problem knowing when it's time to bail

ye, ye but just telling you an interesting use for the walls mentioned here

anyways i usually repair a close to base clean of lights one but giving options its healthy i think and i dont think makes it easier since, as you said, you can just wait to the finish of the cycle but as a "late game" feature i see it interesting

or for example, sometimes i found a perfect place for base but has lights or fissures so i have to search another place. with this, if you want to make the effort, you can counter this. Not a big change but gives variety

I wish we had the ability to create our own versions of some of the marble structures you can see in a world before they disappear due to someone's shadow miners destroying them all. Not pointing fingers here, but you know who you are.

Also, the ability to repair Glommer's Statue would be nice if the aforementioned shadow miners couldn't be reined back in time.

Yes please, it makes me sad when I find glommer's statue destroyed on pubs or friend's servers.

I believe that the marble statues should also be exempt from being destroyed like the glommer statue. This game has wonderful art and it sucks because greiffers and or just regular players will literally destroy everything. I don't know about the next guy but when you're based around the big king voodoo daddy Maxwell's Statue, and then someone out of no where destroys it...

Go...outside the walls, to farm it?  There's nothing stopping YOU from going past them, after all.  (Unless you forgot to leave an opening/build a gate and you don't have the materials for a hammer, which I've seen actually happen...)

Anyway okay, okay, I won't mine the Maxwell statue.

wait you can just ctrl f to punch walls, I've heard that poor people have actually got trapped and perished this way ;(

Oh yes.  Yes they have.

Spoiler

(Warning:  This is from the older days of YouTube when creators didn't have to run and cower like little whipped wimps in fear of The Great Demonetization, so they freely swear without censoring it or using euphemisms, etc.  To ME this is just a great big breath of fresh air _relief_, but others may be offended by the words.)

Note that this says 2.0.  Yes.  They've done this BEFORE and they're still this bad.  (It says Parts 4 and 5, but he's counting on from their FIRST attempt.  This particular run is only two episodes.  Why?  Hint: They're all a bunch of frantic panicky running around constantly-yelling-over-each-other idiots.  : P)

To be fair, this is with a very old version of the game (DST was still in beta at this time--you can see the original makeshift portal, for example).  But still...wow...
