  1. I tried to take care of smallbirds, and It feels wrong, Smallbirds can't jump in to a boat, can't hatch on a boat, they have very low health, low hunger, tried to kill you... Can they even despawn with his owner? It feels outdated. I think the easy fix will be turning smallbirds in to critters, even if this mean that they will never grow, or maybe a QOL. What do you think guys?
  2. A little followup poll on the Tallbird discussion. This IMO would add nest renewability and give some purpose to Tallbird ranching.
  3. A small feature, but it's weird to me how a character gains a flat +15 hunger value (not accounting for staleness) for their favourite food. It's underutilized on most characters, sometimes based on how hard it is to get the ingredients, and the meager hunger value some provide when their sanity/health gains are much more preferred. Thoughts? PS: I would really like it too if the underused crock pot dishes got some love in varied stat values instead of most having 37.5 hunger gain and nothing else to differentiate it from others. I saw someone earlier want Pumpkin Cookies to have multiple produced at a Crock Pot for a smaller sanity gain for each cookie and I loved the idea.
  4. I saw some people complaining about Woodie's wereforms because you can't heal yourself, you can't really get out of the wereform, only standing still until your hunger bar gets to 0 even during full moon. So I though, Why not make his wereforms be able to interact with his inventory? So if you need healing, just heal yourself as normal, if the weremeter gets low just eat food to fill it up or eat another idol-monster meat, and if you want to go back to normal without starving eat... Living logs? Well, there are some of my suggestions, but the point is the same, do you think Woodie's wereforms should interact with his inventory? If the answer is yes, How the wereforms will interact? Thanks for your time.
  5. As per the title, does you consider Spider Queens, Poison Birchnutters, Treeguards and/or the Lord of the Fruitfly to be bosses or are they just bigger than normal mobs? This was an interesting question they came up in this thread here where I was talking about the Malbatross Beak being rarer in the Klaus Sack. Personally speaking, if they are considered to be bosses, they should have statues to them and loot to reflect that (though their spawning conditions are drastically different compared to the other giants of the game, so idk). If they are not bosses, then I say it's a good time to make a separate category for them in the world generation settings, one for bosses and ones for the creatures listed above. Solidifying if these creatures are truly bosses would also be very helpful, as it would clear any confusion on what is and isn't a boss, such as for boss rushing videos.
  6. I think the ending to DST is that everyone escapes the constant to the present year whenever that is, and everyone accepted the present and start to embrace the future, almost all of the characters are tied to the past, there are only 7 characters who are not tied to the past, Wilson, Wes, Walter, Wortox, Wormwood, Wagstaff, Webber. Wilson got no backstory, Wes, Walter is living in the moment, Wortox just wants fun, and Wormwood is just a newborn baby in an adult body, Wagstaff loves the future, Webber only lives in the present. In the end, Charlie will forgive Maxwell and sacrifice herself to destroy the shadow and separate the constant from THEM and free the survivors and seal THEM inside herself forever trap in a void, to make the constant a world with no god or devil to rule, the constant would enter the Contemporary Era where every creature can live together Merm, Pig, Bunny, Lobster, Crab, etc, I think this is why DST is set in the 1900s to 1920s it the decades of war and conflict, so when everyone learns to accept the present and embrace the future the constant can finally be inconstant where the future can finally be decided by the people, and the survivors sent into the present time, as they find themself in a strange new world once more. What are your idea of DST ending.
  7. Someone once said "the constant is H-ll/Purgatory/Limbo" which is dumb so I made this poll.
  8. I ran out of question room. After submitting your answers please explain why you avoid pursuing or using the items you didn't choose. Whether you don't need it, find it not worth the effort, prefer A E S T E T H I C, have better options, or can't obtain it. I started this poll because I hardly use any of the torso clothing, tier 1 items or passive sanity clothes. I think they are useful for what they provide but since they have to compete with even a basic backpack which gives a whole 8 extra inventory slots to help haul items in and out of base they can't even compete. Same thing with passive sanity it's nice when nothing is happening like autumn or maybe while base building/maintaining but it has to compete with armor or element protection. DoT from freezing or overheating causes me way more panic than a couple shadow monsters. And being wet means soggy food, slippery tools, soaked clothes and waterlogged fuel which is far more annoying and tedious than a couple shadow creatures. At best sanity clothes negate the passive sanity lost from dusk and night but barely help with recovery so I guess that lead to me forgoing maintaining my sanity at all. Edit: added eyebrella and rain hat to rain cause I forgor Edit: added scorching sunfish and ice bream cause I forgor Edit: added enlightened crown and made names public
  9. Fauna in the constant so interesting while all the floras are so mundane, some of them are magical but not on the same level as the fauna, most of the interesting floras are in the single-player DLC this would help make the game feel more alive and feel like we are in the wild and also make Wormwood not seen as a challenging character while making that perk more useful, meats in the constant is so diverse and interesting while there are only 2 magical fruit and 1 magical vegetable, I know that trees guard and other plants mobs exist but it's still too little and most of the floras makes no different stat and gameplay-wise.
  10. I want to know how many people are willing to go into the constant.
  11. I'm starving ( the foods group is so unbalace for a game call Don't starve, it could use alot more fruit, sweet, eggs, dairy, and monster food )
  12. In Apocalyptic worlds, Where Wanda travels back in time as the city is about to fall and the soldier is marching, Where Webber is hiding in the den while spiders protect him from zombies, Where Wortox joy is the only smile in a world where sadness is the plague. In Dystopian worlds, Where Wormwood is lost in a product world where no love seems to be found, Where WX-78 feels empty in a technological world where they can do anything they want, Where Wickerbottom seek the truth about the world when the government controls everything. In Post-Apocalyptic worlds, Where Wendy visit ruins building overgrow with white lilies where the sisturn lie, Where Maxwell try to survive a snow cover and frozen land where the white beast lie, Where Wurt tries to protect her people from the war between Merms and Pigs. What kind of worlds would you choose?
  13. Build your own friend group, best friend, enemy, and outcast.
  14. I love everything in DST except the setting is from the 1900s to the 1920s ( except maybe for Walter ) and I hate the progressive era and the roaring twenties. And also because it is 100 years apart it feels so good to link something from 100 years ago to now.
  15. Hi there. I was just going through some thoughts, and I realized: I've never once used these things. Not in any meaningful way, anyways. I think I did it once, didn't feel like hanging around to watch the animation of it happening, then left. I was actually thinking of it, of like, "Man, I wish there was a reliable farm for thulecite", and... well... there is! I just don't use it, and don't think I'd ever use it for a few reasons. For me, the main reason is salt. I don't really enjoy going to the ocean, so salt is sparse to come by and I'd rather spend it on building a salt box or refreshing my powdercake or tossing it at Warly than to craft "Collected Dust" which then needs to be made into "Amberosia". (Why is this two separate things???) Had to know what other people thought, maybe I'm in some insane minority that entirely forgets these things exist except for the few occasions where I wish for more crunchy bug ingots.
  16. Long ago I make threads about NPCs but I never ask what should the new NPCs be. That's all I have to say what is your idea for NPCs? And what do you think of my NPC?
  17. With the new Marbell™ being added for Wolfgang, as well as his negation of Marble suit's speed penalty when mighty, I figured I might make a suggestion poll on something I have been wondering for a while. Marble shrub droprates. While marble can offer some very nice benefits, sadly the speed at which it is renewable is really slow and there is just a lot of decor options that are tied to marble, not to mention the marble suit that is (at least from my experiences currently) still fairly underutilized despite a relatively recent recipe change cutting the recipe in half. I personally may not care as much for the benefits of marble suits but I do think they would be nice for Wolfgang players and I can never say no to more readily available decor options myself, so I figured I would ask in a poll what people think.
  18. All of your stat is 150 across the board anything else based is on IRL you. you are also in first-person mode, and everything is kinda realistic but not too much think red dead redemption 2 with thirst mechanic. And also you can't be resurrected.
  19. It’s a simple poll with simple voting options because sometimes people buy video games and have no actual idea what type of game they had purchased.. and then they get upset wanting that game changed into a Genre it wasn’t ever intended to be in the first place.. I lived long enough to see Resident Evil go from Puzzle Survival Horror to full on Action game with quick time events and then eventually back to its roots of Puzzle survival horror decades later… I DOUBT I have several decades left in me to see the Dont Starve franchise repeat the same mistakes. To give examples of RogueLite games: Spelunky, Spelunky 2, Slay the Spire, Enter the Gungeon, Don’t Starve. Games that intentionally stack the odds against you and sometimes, not even all the skill in the world is going to save you, sometimes it also requires a bit of pure blind luck.
  20. It's a simple poll. Which do you think is harder to survive, winter or summer? Personally, I think that winter is harder to survive, because the things that you require to survive winter are much harder to acquire than those for summer. So, what do you think?

  22. One day on the forums, I read about a new mob that supposedly hunts the player about the map. The eyelid-raising part of this new creature was that it was hard to kill, not impossible to kill. At this moment, I realized how important options are in a survival game such as Don't Starve- how the possibilities for survival tactics can hinge on whether or not a mob is kill-able.Imagine a spider queen update that featured an invincible spider queen; the update would have made migration necessary and combat less important. My question is this: should all mobs (assuming the grue doesn't count; he's pretty fair right now) that Klei adds be a viable kill target for the sake of freedom of choice?
