Character's ages

Recommended Posts

Hello this is a thread where I've put all of information on characters' ages that we know.

Wilson- in his thirties (confirmed by devs)

Willow- in her twenties (confirmed by devs)

Wolfgang- age unknown

Wendy- 8-10 years old (confirmed by @JoeW)

Wx-78- age unknown. Not that it'd matter since robots don't age

Wickerbottom- age unknown but she's obviously old

Woodie- age unknown

Wes- age unknown

Maxwell- age unknown but he's obviously old

Wigfrid- age unknown

Webber- age unknown but he's obviously a kid

Winona- age unknown, older than Charlie

Warly- age unknown

Wortox- age unknown but I assume that acquiring powers is like endering teenagehood/adulthood for imps

Wormwood- age unknown but has a mindset of a child

Wurt- a young Merm

Saw a really neat tumblr post a bit ago delving deeper into this actually! specifically trying to get a more accurate age for the "age unknown" characters then just "adult"

I’ve always felt like Woodie is in his mid-late 40’s.

Warly looks to me like he’s in his late 30’s-early 40’s. Based on his look, his job (he was in charge of people in some sort of kitchen), and the age of his mother. Unless she had him in her 40-50’s :p

Unknown?  In Hamlet he's shown to be a day old.

If him in general, about 1 day old. We have a video of his birth.

I mean, in his cinematic he's definitally 1 day old. But the moment he reaches Constant? 100 years might have passed by then

Date of creation could be wx78's age

Date of creation is date of creation, not age. Age would be the current date minus date of creation

While it could apply to the others, Wendy is confirmed 8-10.

Yes, the oldest possible age Wendy could have is 10, which is an age of a pre-teen. What I'm saying is Webber and Wurt are at most 9 or 10 years old.

Wow really? I thought he'd be younger. Old man Wilson (please dont crucify me 30 year+ board members)

My headcanon is that hes one year old, just like his fellow human hating robot

Spoiler

For the rest of them... meh. Unless Wormwood, wortox or any of the inhumans turn out to secretly be 100+ years old I ain't too interested. Warly does look like he could be 20 or 50. Hes got that young old look

This is all I am going to say on this entire thread: From the Animated Short... at the start of DST you can see Wilson going Gaga over fairly sexy looking Charlie as she Approaches him and free’s him from the Shadow Throne- What follows is a series of emotion flips where she puts on her best Bray Wyatt Impression torn between wanting to Hurt or Help poor Wilson..

but judging from that Short I would Wager that Winona is atleast 26-38, And Charlie has to be no younger than in her early 20’s.. She had to be old enough to Travel Alone to meet with William and become his Magic Assistant at least. -shrugs-

Wx is actually   around 3 years based off of blueprints  this was back when they did  some hints to the voxola radio company  winona and wagstaf worked for. This is also when they also showed designs for the divining rod in the wake of  single player adventure  mode

When I think about it, it's hard to gauge the age of characters like Wortox or Wurt or Wormwood.
Because of the 'time works differently in the Constant' thing. You might even consider that one reason why it's called 'Constant'.
Despite however long it's been, however many cycles have passed...Webber and Wendy still look identical to how they did when they first appeared. And we know that she's 8-10 now; meaning that if time had passed for her, it would be visible.

In that way...if Wendy is still considered 8-10, then Wormwood could be considered age 0 regardless of how much time has passed.
Dunno how Wurt works, though.
Or if Klei actually thought out the implications of specific ages.

Wortox could be special, since it's implied that he and Krampus originate from somewhere else; connected, but not quite the Constant.

I imagine Wurt (and Wilba by extension) would age normally, since they're creatures from the constant. Creatures like Beefalo or Tallbirds age normally, after all, from child to teen to adult.

"Normally" to what fashion?

It takes 3 days to hatch an egg, then like, 10 I think for each stage.
So like, around 20 days for one of these "experiments" to hit adulthood. But by golly do I love them.

I don't know much about Beefalo aging, on the other hand so those may be closer to home than I realize.
I do recall Rock Lobsters also aging, perhaps it's the same there, too?

Ooh, that's a good point...
Hm. I wonder if the 'constantness' of the Constant applies strictly to outsiders. Which would eliminate the need for weird rules like 'only applies in the central part of the Constant'.

Which is interesting, because opens back up the possibility that Pugna has been around for a really long time.
...also, thank you Firefox for telling me that Pugnacity is a word. That explains a lot.

this is an interesting concept for me. reading through this forum post makes me think

how would time work in contrast of the constant and the real world? i would have imagine that they all have been in the constant for atleast 1 irl year but no longer than 5 irl years.

the problem is that 1 year, would be anywhere from 10 days to thousands of years in the constant
