also does she keep her fire sanity?

that would conflict with the nightmare Bernie

I think I misunderstood here..

Do you mean she recovering sanity from fire? Or setting things on fire when sanity is low..

i said an example i don't have a idea for one just the desire for the lighter to be taken into consideration its just too weak and needs a mass brainstorm for it to be a sidegrade

I think if you could take a piece of paper and write what u want the lighter to be.. It can be much useful to the devs that saying "make lighter better".. Do you see what I mean?

recovery from it

She still keeps it.. She is still fascinated by it.. That's not gonna change

lighter might be easiest the way to maintain insanity, I see myself using cooked monster meat and cooked red shrooms to get insane fast

Tbh if there is interest in making the lighter better.. Then I think that it could work as "upgrades". Each upgrade giving different advantages that u can change at will..

But most people do exactly what u do.. Just say this doesn't work.. Or sucks.. But don't give ideas on how to change it

That's my advice to u if you want something to change. Take it or leave it.

Glommer goop or lichen tho..

Overall I'm quite alright with the update. It's literally a straight upgrade from her current status and if Bernie is actually useful then it may give her the position as the best nightmare fuel farmer in the game and considering that there is new content coming the chances for nightmare fuel to be used for a variety of useful things is very possible.

Which changes to nightmare fuel? As far as I know they are working on insanity sounds only.. Or am I missing something here?

My reasons for the votes:

I'm glad to see WIllow got her perks from the Forge and Gorge but I think of them as small bonuses. I didn't like the playstyle shifting. I'd like a straight downside (I don't mind having no reduced overheating damage) with a good upside and some small bonuses (Lighter, Bernie, putting out smoldering, more fuel). She should help the team with her abilities - no one really likes the lighter due light radius and for Bernie see next section. As a real team perk Willow can give an aura of a weak fire resistance or better light radius of all light sources.

Bernie only upgrades if Willow is insane. Well, you can use him to distract hounds and frog now but shadow creature are still there though. And you can run from most bosses. He'll just an emergency tool and it's situational. Aggroing other players shadow creatures seems to be a good thing but some player might like to have the aggro to farm NF or let Bernie get destroyed. I think he shouldd aggro foreign shadows after Willow hit them.

I only use the lighter for myself and after it's gone I rarely craft another. From my experience hardly anyone take lighters put in the base and you can make someone angry using gold/picking flowers.:? I don't mind the durability, I like the cooking ability but I got the feeling it burns faster in the rain even it shouldn't (it was stated I think). If I would change it let others cook with the lighter, too.

Full or half Fire immunity...something I cannot really decide but I voted for full immunity. If Willow should get an extra perk with a prominent fire element it or if we get content with more fire mobs or fire from enviroment she should get. For now - because natural fire is unprominent - she can have the half fire immunity.

I never said they were changing nightmare fuel. I said that since there is new content coming there is a good chance that new items will be added into the game that require nightmare fuel.

However a mark of good game balance is when all characters are at least on relatively the same plane of strength. Currently The proposed buffs would still leave Willow far behind much of the cast, not even just the meta characters.

I'll just wait for the update, and then we'll know Willow's strength.

Klei not all information told about Willow's abilities, so am I right to say.... Or not?

I think she's right at the cusp of relevancy, I'd just like something cool/fun with the lighter. I posted in one of the refresh brainstorming topics about the lighter growing brighter and giving more warmth (like a mobile campfire for the team) the more insane she is, and letting it be refilled with nightmare fuel. I feel like coupled with Bernie being insanity based would put the maniac back in our pyromaniac without giving griefers tempting tools. I also think it'd give her some great utility for ruins spelunking. Also what if she could use nitre or something to convert it to an endothermic lighter?

It seems like fire immunity is pretty important to people, I can't really see the harm in bringing back.

If this game continues to have characters that offer absurd perks which make the challenge in this game insignificant, I'm out. Wickerbottom already killed the game for all my friends. We need nerfs for most characters and semi-good perks, no invulnerability and a lighter that has infinite fuel and can cook.

Gosh! You're quite the stick in the mud!

My opinion on the matter. I think Willow was a playable character before the new update, but all of her new changes are aimed at improving. So I don't see anything wrong with that. Not all characters have to be strong:wilsondisagreeable:

I disagree I think all characters should be equally powerful, barring Wes.

The characters have different proficiencies. How can we measure a fighter with a gatherer? Even Wes should have a place in the multiplayer but not for memes.

Well fighting and gathering are often the same thing, but besides it's pretty easy to tell whether a character is good or not.

"I will punch you!" - Mighty Wolfgang picking grass :).

That's what the character works are about. Players should choose a character they are comfortable with. Not everyone like to fight bosses.

Oh I just mean that a lot of the best stuff you can get is gated behind killing enemies.

Anyways, I don't know if there are even any niches left to fill.

Uhm, it depends on. Most characters are a varity of a, you might call that, class. In the DS universe I would divide them into fighter, gatherers, survivalists and special.

Wolfgang and Wig are obviously fighters and I would count Wendy here because Abby. Fighters are important since loot, you said it, are locked behind a living creature

Woodie and Maxwell are gatherers and I would count Webber here as well because spider's loot.  They should get more resources or get them in shorter time.

Wicker, WX, Winona and Wortox are specials because they don't really fit in any category but increased stats, catapults and books are really good. WX can become a tank.

The rest are survivlists: Wilson, Willow and Wes (well he is special on his own).  Wilson has actually no downside (unless you count beard in summer) and Willow, Wes is just hard mode. Their perks are mainly revolve around their own surviva. Because you can craft items for your survival other characters cannot benefit from their perks (I do not count beard hair, lighters and balloons here) so it would makes sense Klei reworks these 3 to fit them in other classes as well. Wilson would be a cool team doctor (I look at you Wortox), we suggested for Willow inventory burning to make her fighting better. I had the idea Wes can "mime" other characters abilities. It's ok to have a perk to make it easier to survive but I do not think it's enough. He/she should have a perk that adds to the multiplayer game otherwise it's not fair and they would fall behind the others.

You should get it, Wilson+Willow+Wes could fill niches or add more class varity. Since DST hasn't SW or Hamlet mechanics it would be difficult to make an innovative character.

Oh wow, what a surprise, people want complete fire immunity! Huff, huff! <3 AND the infinite lighter. HUE, HUE! Loving this poll! XOXO

A lot of people wanted more for Willow than a better Bernie? I’m shocked.
