blitz4
this game is balancing out real nicely. You can use a sleeping bag to up sanity and skip dusk/night, but halve your hunger and spend your primary resource - grass. Foods from crockpots will up your sanity (not sure by how much), but I did some math from the wiki and it looks like most of the foods will replenish your health/hunger bar more if they're cooked in a fire instead of combined with other items in a crockpot. Shouldn't crockpot foods be more nourishing than their individual components?

Palpetinus
It's simple, really. The raw ingredients lasts only some days, while the crockpot food lasts much much longer. That's their thing.

Spazmatic
Muffins are very underrated. This^ Butter muffins are amazing, both to heal hp and hunger and the ingredients are easy to obtain (2 butterfly wings 2 carrots is my favourite way of making them)
Nathuram
Too many recipies give less hunger than the raw materials. In my experience it's good for meatballs, honey nuggets honey ham and taffy.Half its purpose seems to be sanitizing monster meat into honey nuggets or meatballs. Kraizee
Morsel of meat plus berries/carrots produces meatballs that heal for ~65 hunger (which, btw, is HUGE)If you live near a pig village with several berry farms, you can make fistfulls of jam. FISTFULLS.
kendogg
my favorite recipe is 1 monster meat 3 berries for meatballs. though any combination of meat/veggies that don't use more than 1 monster meat or more than 3 meat overall (morsels counting 1/2) and doesn't use any special veggies for other recipes will product meatballs. 3+ meat will make meaty stew (again no more than 1 monster meat...so you can do monster meat+meat+2 morsels). Fistfuls of jam and ratatouille (vegetable stew) are also good. as mentioned they last longer so it helps you to stockpile food for the winter and not have it all spoil.edit: wiki linkhttp://dont-starve-game.wikia.com/wiki/Crock_Pot

So there are two reasons to get eggs from a caged bird. I wonder if their eggs are used for other recipes as well.

novicez
Fish sticks for summer and Meatballs for winter. Honey ham is kinda meh because it needs to have 2 full meat component which will already yield 2 honey nuggets for the same amount of meat.(you can also use monster meat to make honey nuggets)
Frosterus
Crockpots can be used to make monster meat not garbage. It also extends the lifetime of your food, and crockpot food restores a tiny bit of sanity (+5?).
