Space artifacts/junk

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one that needs a way to automatically(/ at least without player interaction) deal with space artifacts ?

Or did someone mess with door automation to move artifacts / other ideas ?

(A storage entry would be a first step, a way to dispose of unwanted artifacts would be the next.)

i would appreciate if we could recycle unwanted artifacts, recycle station allowing you to get some maybe wolframite or gold amalgam.

Then again we still have the data banks also, which also just fill space... atleast we can put those into storage i guess...

Been talking about this more and more recently on stream. We need some sort of "advanced material recycler" or something - maybe some machine that can melt down rare space resources/artifacts/abyssalite/etc, and allow you to build awesome stuff for your base - or maybe serve as currency for the printing pod, or something like that.

Trading 100kg of abyssalite for 1kg of wolframite would suit me down to the ground :D

So much crap becomes a nuisance late game - whether it be the 4000 tons of abyssalite, or 20,000 excess seeds, etc etc.

I know seeds can be composted, but i'd much rather trade them for space cookies...

Same whit abbysalite, now i automate rockets for converting to insulation, but i can't use so much. Same whit duplicate of space artefacts, or balm lilies. cant melt it, can't  dispose it.

Ok, I am not argueing for a "real" resouce sink that will eat through everything like a rock granulator.

Abyssalite is in a decent spot right now (at least my opinion).

But since our need for insulation is limited, our need for abyssalite is limited too. (I would prefer a "resource sink" for insulation over abyssalite.)

=> I hate to farm planets with abyssalite on them cause I have no real way to deal with it.

At least balm lilies are no problem, don´t farm them or deactivate your farms if you got enough.

I don't farm 10k planets because of the refined carbon problem (9.1 tones now from 11.2) :) and i can use it only for steel, and can't melt it, same whit abbysalite. I farm only 30k planet (for steel, glass - converted to sand, coper, and fulerene), 40k planets (ice - melted to water, solid methane - melted to natural gas, and then liquefied, solid co2 - melted to co2 and converted to crude oil or polluted water, isoresin - converted to insulation, and niobium - used as it is, or converted to tungsten in the hot area). Other planets.. i don't bother yet.

okay what did I miss on Abyssalite?  I thought last time I checked it was useless?

It's an ingredient for creating insulation, a material used for making insulated tiles and pipes. Think better ceramic

@Denisetwin Sadly though it's a very small inclusion rate in a very expensive recipe, that realistically only has very little real use.

In short, abyssalite isn't the bottleneck of the recipe, so we ideally need some more things to use it in/for.

My suggestion has always been to give us "Abyssalite infused pumps" and things of that sort for extreme temperatures, and now more than ever it'd make sense considering theres bugger all else we can use it for :D

Right there with you, it's rather time consuming mounting them all and I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I'm done filling area's with them. Most likely leave them in the bottom of the silos as trash.
