Nice. We need more art. I'm surprised Klei didn't add in art from this fine RL artist. Some of those are great, and fit the bill for Klei's overall style...we should petition.

well a masterpiece marble statue give 42 decor at 8 range ;)

using the same space to fit 2 normal statues for 48 decor at 8 range :D

while using the same space with 2 metal statues for 90 decor at 8 range! :shock:

Decor items need a UI rework, if this is the way the devs want to go. For example, make it so all non-masterpiece artwork items have a standing order to be updated, once a dupe has the required job level to do better. This shouldn't be micromanaged by the player.

I wouldn't call it micromanagment.  If you take too much player interaction out of the game then it gets too easy and dull.

I usually rebuild my bases as I rise in tier anyways when I get better food, O2 production, power supply.

Having to rebuild art as I rebuild my base changes very little then what I had to do before

In general they might think of polished statues of any rock material.

Literally couldn't be more wrong. Having to manually call orders to do obvious things doesn't make the game even the slightest bit harder, but it certainly makes it duller.

We are talking about once, maybe twice having to rebuild art

It's not like having to watch stables were you have to replace a critter every 150 cycles

You can automate that too: critter sensor with two autosweepers, one of them can reach an egg cracker, the other one an incubator, while both can sweep the floor. Then set up your critter sensor to below 9 (for hatches) and have it activate the sweeper with the incubator, also hook it up to the other sweeper with a NOT gate. Since the critter sensor counts eggs too, whenever an egg is laid and it would be the 9th critter the sweeper for the egg cracker activates, otherwise the egg gets incubated.

If you think about it, it makes sense

Natural attributes only effects the speed of the job

This is true for all other jobs

You can master a job by doing any task. Even sleeping.

I've had astronauts who never touched research stations, I'm sure you can get Master Artist without creating 'failed' art.

I kinda expected it work like this eventually. Now we can`t build a great hall right away. Early game got more challenging in terms of morale.

That`s one way to deal with it. If you really hate removing old art to upgrade it. I`m happy i get to see all the other art variants throughout the game. Even if it`s a nerf.

He already asked but stupid, laws ( that have gotten as far as you must have a mile long legal agreement in place to borrow your room mate a cup - sarcasm here) have prevented Klei from incorporating it in. There is no issue when you include a gameplay mod or fixes made by community. Because, community is using your intellectual property (source code ) to build something (of course proper credits are due to, if you want to keep stellar reputation and acknowledge community's  hardwork) but ... art is different story.

However, I am pretty sure Klei will allow modders to include custom art in the game, which is win win for everyone.

I meant the new to come third tier of artistry which will also likely come with a healthy moral cost
