What are the times for switching bunker doors?

Bunker tiles cover 1 tile per 100kg of steel and bunker doors cover 0.8 tiles per 100kg of steel. Meaning it is slightly cheaper to use tiles for covering the surface where you don't need doors.

I have tried before not powering bunker doors, thinking with 100% scan quality, I would be able to close them in time. However, like already mentioned, the bunker doors will sometimes just not close or close really slowly off screen so sadly that is not an option currently. 

When powered, all buggy behavior stopped.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice that.  I was wondering why steel tiles weren't standing up to the meteors and started building bunker doors instead.

I can understand the confusion. Bunker tiles and doors should be a combination of steel and concrete, not just steel. I think I myself made the mistake a couple of times building steel metal tiles instead of bunker tiles.

I know when bunkers were first added to the game their overheat temperature was only 125C and would get damaged easily.

Bunker doors are considered open until they fully close and closed until they fully open. This means you are safe when your doors start opening with a few meteors comming in. If you start closing them too late meteors will pass through not fully closed doors. Rockets will destroy the not fully open doors so you can`t automate it with just the meteor scanner.

I am not here to call anyone a liar but I need solid evidence to prove claims

I had just left the house for work so I can't test it now but I will test tonight to see if I can get open Bunker's damaged by meteors.

Perhaps if the open bunker door is within a range of an impacted meteor?

What if I had and open bunker door under a close one would the Splash damage affect it?

Yeah I can't say I tested it extensively, but I previously had bunker doors across the top of the silo and they were taking damage from meteors passing through.  You're welcome to do your own testing if you'd like proof.

That`s strange. I had open bunker doors this patch with meteors pasing through it. No damage. It showed the "meteor damage" floating text but i`m sure it was the automation and power wires. Also automation, wires, pipes and conveyor ralis didn`t take any meteor damage this patch but they did when the space industry upgrade went live.

To clarify it showed those things taking damage but there was no damage bar and no priority for repairing them.

Yeah I saw the floating text, got rid of the doors and it went away.  Wasn't sure if the wires would cause issues, but they didn't.  Now you have me wondering so I guess I'll have to test this again myself. :D
