g5457s Posted November 29, 2021 Share Posted November 29, 2021 I was just playing around, loading the game multiple times so I'll get a nice dupe from the Cryotank in the frozen asteroid. Then I saw this. The reaction on his face LOOOOOOOL!!! Long story in the spoiler if anyone is interested. This was fun! Sacrificing my favorite best dupe instead of using a rover to explore faraway asteroids is quite the in-game adventure! Spoiler Max and his good friend and fellow Ugly Crier Abe got curious and decided to explore what lies below the surface of the Chillora asteroid, 5 tiles away from home. It took 2 cycles to get there. Max, having both diver's lungs and deeper diver's lungs, volunteers to explore what's underneath. Because he didn't remove his exosuit the entire trip, it has about 2 cycles worth of Oxygen remaining, which should be more than enough for a somewhat thorough exploration. He hopped in the trailblazer, landed in Chillora and explored below the surface, only to realize a major miscalculation. How is he gonna get back without a platform for the rocket to land! Whoops! He's done for once he runs out of air or starves to death, whichever comes first, but he trusted his instincts and acted fast. He found a strange device that "Looks Dangerous". While it isn't what he's looking for, the metal tiles around it gave him hope and an escape from certain death. He destroyed them all and got overcome with joy, relief and a second chance when he got over 1000kgs of refined metal, more than enough to build a rocket platform. While delivering the metal to the rocket platform, he noticed an odd Abyssalite formation along the way. Many cycles of digging, building and exploring his home while all the dupes have it easy, taught him that something is beyond. He dug through the Abyssalite and found another Cryotank 3000x1, similar to the one in Timberora. But instead of opening it in excitement, he had to build the platform first so whoever is in there can escape and live. If he thawed the Cryotank first before building the rocket platform, the thawed duplicant will surely die due to the lack of Oxygen! After a cycle and a half of intense struggle, removing his exosuit to urinate in space to avoid getting too stressed due to a soiled exosuit, and increasingly dangerous radiation exposure, he managed to complete the rocket platform and a tall enough ladder to get to the Spacefarer Module. When he opened the tank, liquid nitrogen evaporating caused a smoke that briefly obscured his vision. The duplicant in the Cryotank is thawed and freed. Once the smoke cleared, he is shocked, bewildered, confused... to find... himself...? What? However, there is no time to contemplate the meaning of his existence and the impending existential crisis that will haunt him until the day he dies. Both of them must get out of there AND FAST! So Max guided Max through the winding tunnels he dug, into the vacuum of space and finally, into the Spacefarer module where Abe is waiting. When the pair got into the Module, Abe is shocked, bewildered, confused to find two Maxs. Max will explain everything later once they got home. For now, he needs a much-needed rest, for he has been spared from death and given a second chance... and a second Max. This discovery of meeting a double... how will the duplicants back home react? The dupes dedicated such a glorious and ******* expensive structure to the raw sewage that gave their little asteroid home life, sustained it and fed everyone for over 600 cycles. Because of raw sewage, they are able to breathe in clean, fresh air tainted by food poisoning germs. Because of raw sewage, they're able to eat some of the most delicious food in the universe. Because of raw sewage, they're able to refine so much raw ores into refined metal, enabling them to colonize the cluster. Because of raw sewage, temperatures are always kept in check, never becoming too hot or too cold to sustain food-bearing plants. Because of raw sewage, they are able to grow trees to help fight climate change and global warming. Because of raw sewage, this colony is sewagely raw.
