Are all my grass farms going to tell in Geckos eventually? Cause that's not great...

keep the newly spawned grass geckos in about a screens distance to the original grass turfs and no more grass geckos should spawn in that area.

also, grass geckos are faster at producing grass and aren't susceptible to disease; why would you not want them?

Just wall your grass farm with gate(s) and make sure to close it when you are going in or out. Grass gekko can't be spawned when some of them stay  in the farm.

If you eventually run out of grass turfs in forest world, try dig them in cave

They cause a lot more lag, in my experience, but I suppose that's neither here nor there.

Anyways, as the others said, if there are already grass geckos in close proximity to your grass tufts, they will not turn. Good luck, squirrelman.

It’s my understanding that grass tufts/berries/saplings that are transplanted from the surface to caves and vice versa are MUCH more susceptible to disease.

I don't think that's the case anymore, but I could be wrong. Changing resources was the reason it did that, but that mechanic was removed long ago.

They have nasty pittery-pattery feets and when I go up to them they gasp at me :wilsondisagreeable:

I prefer Grass Geckos since they don't get diseased. I really wish Klei would add grass in the regrowth mechanic - in my deleted 'classic' world about 200 (from about 800 counted prefabs) grass tufts died due illness and no grass geckos at all :o.

EDIT forgot a word
