Arash70 Posted May 23, 2018 Share Posted May 23, 2018 1-How can I destroy chlorine? 2-How to deal with steam in oil biome? it constantly turns into water and turns back into steam again :/ and whenever I try to pump it out with a gas pump I get cold damage all over the pipes. I would really like to clear it out and use that biome as a huge oil boiler. Kabrute Posted May 23, 2018 Share Posted May 23, 2018 you can destroy chlorine directly with morbs, chlorine is annihalted by contact with germs and morbs produce them regularly. As for the steam you need a condenser station and pump house. A pump in that pwater room with a couple loops of piping dropping under it you could turn the area over the ruins into your steam condenser, use a wall of airflow tiles to make the side of the room, stick a pump at the bottom. Run your pwater from the tank through the room, the heat from the steam will pass to the pwater dropping water into your pump station. Controlling location is critical to having it work for you. Kabrute Posted May 23, 2018 Share Posted May 23, 2018 been my observation for the longest time... if it is wrong, my bad but to provide a definitive answer, to destroying chlorine, set up an ore scrubber between a bottle emptier and bottling station and run the output line from the bathrooms to one side, pull germ from water from the other, delete chlorine in the scrubbers between. PhailRaptor Posted May 23, 2018 Share Posted May 23, 2018 2 "end" uses for Chlorine: -> Ore Scrubbers, but that requires objects with germs on them in order to be used by Dupes to consume the Chlorine. -> food for Squeaky Pufts, who will produce Bleach Stone, which you can use for Hand Sanitizes instead of Sinks to cut down on your water usage and piping requirements. Ultimately you'll want to overpressure that Chlorine Geyser. It's use is limited. You will be able to store all the chlorine on your map inside a 10x10 tank by liquifying it. 0xFADE Posted May 23, 2018 Share Posted May 23, 2018 Squeaky pufts are a good way of turning chlorine in to meat. other than not letting water get in to your oil biome in the first place the only good way to get it out is to pump it out. Using abysalite vents so it doesn't turn back in to water inside the vent. Arash70 Posted May 24, 2018 Author Share Posted May 24, 2018 Ore Scrubbers are so slow It's like 100-1000 grams of chlorine every cycle :/ Liquefying it is a good idea, but it's just too expensive to maintain I think I just gotta trap my waste gas in a room Btw, one thing I figured out is you can put the gas in a huge gas pipe, then stop the pump, and ask your plumber to do its plumbing, then you'll end up with gas bottles, but this too is so slow. Just pump it when liquid to a tank room that is free of any gas(vacuum). But for this "small" amount you should use samlogans compressor suggestion. I think it gives the biggest bang for your buck. The first part is ranch free. Wild dreckos in the room with growing balm lily filled with chlorine. You only need to enter to harvest lilies they didn't eat and collect phosphorite Similarly I've got a room filled with hydrogen with a platform in the middle with wild glossy dreckos to collect plastic. I've got 4 in there now and get completely free plastic from them. One of them laid a regular drecko egg so I'll be back down to 3 soon.
