Hide contents New game Pretty sure that was referencing Oil Reservoirs. With how many Slicksters spawn on a given map, having Oil Reservoirs also present just doesn't make any sense. It's a waste of water. Slicksters will produce at a dramatically higher rate than an Oil Well. Slicksters will produce at a dramatically higher rate than an Oil Well. 1kg water for 3.33kg oil per second per reservoir. Let's say pressure release drops it to 3kg/s. To get that rate with slicksters (which convert 250g/s at 100% rate), you'd need to produce 3kg/s of CO2 somehow, which would require 6 petroleum generators, 50 natgas generators, 150 coal generators, or 1500 duplicants. There is no way you're getting anywhere near that sustainably without running into unbearable lag. And that's just one oil well. Where would you be spending all that water anyway? That's just 600kg/cycle, which is just 1/4 of a steam geyser. Unless you have a horde of dupes fed berries or wheat, you should have a surplus of it anyway. Or unless you're doing some horrible thing, like using algae terrariums or mushers. I think the problem is that there is just not enough space. ...and just noticed that I'm still using the PoissonDisk behavior instead of the default UniformHex. Guess I forgot to swap it back. I think I saw one that spawned next to the magma Yeah I have seen em filled with Lava so you might be on to something, But so far ive had about 30+ maps and I have not been able to find any oil wells, which kind of upsets me since I finally started exploring the biome... They have a high degree of likelihood of breaching the Abyssalite veins, allowing Biomes to mix. Tested a new one with the patch from today, I have one I remember in the Oil Upgrade it were up to 5. A huge downgrade. The ruins are nice, but a little bit useless. The automation functions with the 6 switches are an evil one. But the problem is, the ruins aren't randomly constructed, so they are always the same. Also seems like it got reduced from 4 to 2 reservoirs.
