The Crockpot Gourmet

I'm not sure if this has been done before, but here we go...

:spidercowers:

So I wanted to get my friend the DS Mega Pack for Christmas, but as it is just a Steam download, I didn't want to show up there completely empty-handed.

We really had fun while playing DST together (he was on my brother's account). And then I remembered that the most fun for him was trying out new ingredients for the crock pot and cooking us a lot of awesome stuff. Yet, he was always afraid of wasting precious food and turning it into wet goop.

The solution was at hand:A cookbook!

And so there was the idea and actually implementing it turned out to be quite a crazy challenge, but yet I managed it and would like to share the results with you.

I proudly present to you: THE CROCK POT GOURMET!

I never realized there are already 42, in words: fourty-two!, valid (and invalid) crock pot recipes in the game. So this turned to be quite an undertaking, as the book got so big, I actually had to sew it together.

The different colors indicate in which of the game's versions the recipe is included. I've included the new SW ones as well, even though they're most likely to change a bit.

I've also taken some liberties with the missing examination quotes, and I am sure there are some mistakes concerning the stats and other infos, but please don't point them out to me.

PS: He really liked the present very much.

PPS: Of course, all artworks and ideas belong to Klei Entertainment / Capybara Games.

Thanks for your great feedback, guys! :love-struck:

I would like to upload the PDF, so you could make your own cookbooks, but I am not sure if I'm allowed to do so.

I don't see why you wouldn't be... as long as it's free and you properly credit Klei for all the images you used that they made :)

Methinks it would be good if this were added to the Klei store, with you getting a percentage of the profits.  I'd buy it.  But if Klei decides that since it was made with their assets, it is therefore theirs, that would be not so good.  But so far Klei seems to be good people.

Maybe $5-$10, depending on what kind of paper it uses?  A nice, heavier paper would be better than plain printer paper, and the covers should be made of a different material.  Maybe have the hardcover $10, and the softcover about $7?

How are the recipes ordered?  Is it alphabetical, by ingredients, by how late in the game you'll typically be eating them..?

Why do powdercake ONLY take hp

To answer your question, Powdercakes were added to the game as a joke; the developers used it as an inside joke around the office.

It's mainly used as bait, to lure Gobblers, Merms etc... to Tooth Traps. Not as a food item.

Now to get back on the topic of this thread...

@Mueck, I wantd to know, what will you do if/when Klei adds new Crockpot recipes for Shipwrecked? Can you simply "update" the book with the other pages you'll make? (If you even make them?)

Did you ever figure out how to upload that PDF?

Yeah @Mueck, can you upload the PDF for us humble forumers?

Of course, this is your decision and I don't want to force you to do anything if you don't want to, but it'd be awesome if we could have the PDF form of that awesome book! :D
