HOORAY WENDY IS FINALLY BACK!!!

 

When I read the "hunting alone may not be a good idea" note, I immediately thought of the Varg.  But looking through what others have posted already, I guess I was wrong.

 

Also, I do not know why but the gif of the Ewecus makes me think of this

As for the Ewecus, still not sure.

But it drops 4 meat, 3 steel wool, and phlem(which is edible but drains a portion of sanity)

All right so it looks like on the Ewecus, 4 meat is a stable drop. The phlegm and steel wool are slightly random.

 

I did a test with blow darts and the beastie appears to have 800 health. Damage output, I'm not sure, all I know if that the phlegm and the attack both hurt.

It will attack you on sight and just be warned, DO NOT FIGHT IT BY YOURSELF!

You will most likely die.

So it looks like global sanity drain for all alive players when there are one or more people dead has been implemented, and it gets worse the more dead people there are who don't log out.

 

As it stands currently this is an absolutely game breaking mechanic which I hope for the love of God isn't enabled on PvP servers.  It's just way too much to manage if there are several dead people.  I end up dying for other people's mistakes when I had absolutely nothing to do with it and aren't anywhere near them at all.  That's not cool, especially on something like a dedicated server where dead people may be logging in from time to time and maybe hanging around just to chat.

 

Right now this just encourages password-protected server hosting and/or banning people who die.

 

 

In regards to the timer that starts when everyone is dead, I expected for us to at least be able to do things during the count-down, not for us to all be rendered useless by removing control of our characters while an inevitable restart happens.  It seems practically just a waste of time if that's all it's going to do.  If I'm sat as a ghost by a touch stone waiting for a better time to respawn or to see if the last survivor will make it and s/he doesn't, I still want to be able to use the touch stone.  Also has anyone tested what happens when the count-down timer starts and someone logs in?  Presumably the world still restarts regardless.  Maybe friends-only servers would not want this to happen. EDIT: In which case, they can just set the game mode to "Endless".  Okay.

The sanity drain is only in Survival Mode. This is intentionally a more difficult cooperative-oriented mode, as opposed to the more free-for-all Endless Mode (which is what everyone was playing before the update, essentially, although without the free portal revives). Survival Mode and PvP don't make sense together, you're right.

 

Ok, so what exactly as the differences between Endless and Survival mode? Like, how does it play different? As you said, it seems I have been playing Endless in the last worlds so I have an idea how that works, curious what is different in Survival mode. Ty!
