For Those Not in Beta (DST Beta Footage)

wish i had a key starving is less miserable together.

aww who said it was ever miserable surviving alone? without other mouths to feed, you have more resources, and get to keep all the dapper hats and meals for yourself, no guilt! (don't worry, I would still share stuff with you ppl anyways :) )

Being alone for so long gets in to your mind man.

watched your vid, fyi carrots lose efficiency/restoration value when you cook them

so eating them raw is pretty optimal

and foraging carrots you should probably look at as a last ditch grab because carrots in the ground don't respawn

I think this isn't right. Carrots give 12.5hunger 1 HP if raw and 12.5 hunger 3HP if cooked. It used to be 9.5 raw hunger -> 12.5 cooked in the original, but may have changed with RoG to 12.5 = 12.5.

Either way, cooking has always given benefits to carrots.

Per the Wiki:

http://dont-starve-game.wikia.com/wiki/Carrots

Cooking only gives you 2 health more but decreases the durability by 4 days! Keep them raw until you need to eat them (and only cook them if low on health at that time anyway!

And Testers will say if some property of an item has changed to work in DST or not.)

Based on the past, I'd imagine they are received from Klei via email when you are chosen (You are given 4 codes from what some have said) and then have to be entered into steam product activation to add the game to your library. If you wanted to give a key to a friend you would simply message it to them and they would put it in themselves.

Yep! The early 100 active DS beta people may have received PM's on the forum, but I'd check email for future Beta keys!

I would be very surprised if Up and Away worked with DST.

As per any update like it was for RoG, modders may have to update their mod to work with DST. Due to it being optional (some people are just fine with single player BTW,) another separate build may or may not need to be made for DST. I'll let you modders and mod playing people discover what happens when you try it on DST (assuming mods are working on all future Beta DST builds of course!)

(also to @T4T3RGR3NAD3R)

Once we actually add support for mods, I can all but guarantee that any existing mods will have to be updated, if not completely overhauled. The team has done an enormous amount of refactoring of the code to make it work properly over the network and mods will have to do the same. The one possible exception here are mods that only affect the UI. But even then, I be surprised if more than a handful of mods "just worked".

As always the ideal reply, thanks Seth!

(But sorry, if I didn't recognize you there for a moment until you put that sheet back on!)

cuz I want to play it with my friends.

Well, right now (as I said) it's buggy and many people who have been given keys (like me) can't get exactly in. Even if you had friends who played this and they got keys, who knows how long before you'd be in the game. That is a problem with DST, it's hard to get in because those who got accepted are in right now while others are sitting around trying to play online.

TBH the main reason I would like a key is so we can start picking apart the code to prepare to mod. Very curious indeed.

meh i have 2 keys i can give to you and one of your modders i only have one friend that likes the game

PS i like your mods

edit: both keys have been given away

OH NO! @jbeetle I was one of the first to comment on your youtube video yesterday but I didn't find a key! D'= So sad... Btw glad I could help with the F key for attacking tip =]

Anyways...If anyone wants to throw me a beta key I would love you for...like a little while, but it'd be a nice thing to do.

Thanks for your offer for the key, but I just got one from another member of our mod team ;)

PS. Always like to hear that others enjoy our HITD mod ;)
