This doesn't cause problems with the lore?

Recommended Posts

If you play with other survivors...

This would ruin the story much in the characters like Wigfrid, what would think of the other characters?
O maxwell, i dont think he enjoy survive with his toys
Woodie, would no longer be a secret his curse
Willow and Wendy needs go to the psychologist
And Webber would suffer bullying
I dont think this characters can be friends

Uh, I don't think most of this is a lore problem. In fact, it sounds like it would create lore.

As for Woodie, it could be a secret about how he got the curse.

Edit: Everyone post more comments more often. I don't like seeing that I am the most recent commenter on half the front page threads.

The thing about this game is there is not a ton of lore already and Klei is of course the creators so they are the ones who create how the story goes.

If you wanna see some ideas of the interaction between the characters read ravenblackcrows comics on deviant art.

I know, right Ridley?

Anyway, I don't think it creates a lore problem, the only problem I saw was what to do with Maxwell, but that was previously.

If all the characters are not Maxwell, Maxwell can still appear to great them and the time period the co-op takes place can be set before he was freed from the throne. If Maxwell is one of the player characters well then it can be considered to have happened after he was freed. In fact, Maxwell could get up first and say, "Say, pal, you don't look so... oh wait," when he remembers he's no longer the puppet master.

I think all of us already know @Raven Crow's comics. :)

HEI! The logic is: Wilson revived many of those who died in the world he's currently in. He built a new door and revived them to at least not be alone. The only characters that wouldn't make sense are Maxwell and Wes cause Wes practically was in the world before Wilson technically and then got trapped, so the fact that he gets resurrected doesn't make sense, unless after being freed he was actually dead the whole time, and Maxwell doesn't work out: if adventure mode is still gonna be in the game there must be some character on the dark throne!

There's nothing in the lore to suggest it's impossible. The only real, solid lore is:

William Carter's Story

William Carter becomes stuck on the throne. Charlie becomes the Grue.

Time passes.

Wilson is pulled into the world, along with various characters around the same time.

Time passes.

Wilson gets trapped on the throne.

Where in that is there anything to say that no interaction between characters?

But, i think, no one like survive with Wendy or Willow, they are psychos..

They're not psychos, Willow is implied to be a pyromaniac and Wendy is just morbid.

Besides, considering the rest of the cast; they'd fit in quite well.

The only ones I think others would have a problem with is WX and Maxwell, since WX doesn't seem to like humans and Maxwell's the guy who kidnapped all of them. And that'd still fit in with the lore.

To justify the presence of two (or more?) characters on the same island, there might be a lore explanation that happens after the "Maxwell saga". Whilst initially, there is always someone on the throne that serves as the puppet master in control of Them. After a considerate amount of time however, they become tired of the same routine of people killing the one on the throne to save them but seal their own doom. It is then when Wilson is seemingly struck by a brilliant idea (The Door), to enable multiple survivors to enter his world to make his survival easier through the aid of whoever joins him. In reality however, this is all planned by Them.

They got rid of the throne, killing whoever was sitting on it in the process (so he or she is alive outside the adventure portal). This is an entirely new experiment to see how one would survive on the island with multiple people. The underlying thought is that after a while of bonding and surviving together, the prime human nature arises when an event happens that could mean either ones death or survival. The poor island inhabitants will, eventually, almost always choose for their own sake, regardless of consequence. If the other parties involved survive whatever bestowed upon them, it would not benefit the atmosphere at all, and potentially ends up into killing each other. If someone sacrifices their own life for the other(s), that would still be rather amusing to watch for Them!

Of course, this could be shown in an awesome animation that plays once you enter the Door for the first time, and can later on be rewatched at will :)

I'm beginning to think Brianman is a genuine troll.

Well, those avatars are suspiciously familiar, are they not? That in itself seems to be antagonistic.

However, the topic at hand is still valid.

I personally don't think this causes any problems with the lore, for the reasons stated in the thread.

Um, yes, as stated before, the portal and additional whatsnot end up creating lore that molds into the previous. As shown in the puzzle, Wilson crafted a portal that is likely to allow other players to come into his world--whether it be through their own world or the real world is up for debate however, like the portal could have just reactivated the portal that originally suck Wilson in, though that is a bit of a stretch..

Anyway, the main canon idea is that Wilson would be the one to conquer adventure mode and to take Maxwell's place, which brings into the question of the creation of the portal.

Simple, Wilson made it before he got onto the throne, although the reason why he doesn't go through it into the real world could disprove the previous theory. When Wilson enters the portal or vice-vesa, other island worlds are just connected--maybe the portal would change the teleporto or something for aesthetic reasoning.

Think crazy Zelda timeline, guys. It's not hard if you bend the rules a bit.

I just figured if Maxwell and Wilson was in the same place, it meant some other character beat adventure mode. Its not listed as canon, but its a possibility that could easily exist.

I wonder if Klei will actually come up with something in the lore that would explain how a Wilson+Maxwell session is possible. I guess another character could be on the Nightmare Throne, but explaining it another way seems more interesting.
