What do you hate to see?

When you're running around the world, what kind of things make you go "oh crap" when you run into them?

 

For me it's fields full of beehives/killer bee hives. And the setpieces with massive collections of resources and monsters. I was very annoyed in my last world to find a forest of reeds with a ton of tentacles waiting to slaughter me. But mostly it's the bees. I usually map out the borders of my world first thing, and don't stop at night, so sometimes I run into them at night and end up being murdered by half a dozen hives' worth of killer bees. Even when I don't, though, I still hate those bees.

Werepigs. It's such a great moment when you are mapping your world at night with just a torch and an army of pigs come to kill you.

Hound attack when im exploring and far away from pigs 'n' other defenses.

Terrorbeak in ruins, the moment I meet two is the moment I have to run around in circles until witching hour passed, which is never fun.

1) An army of spiders coming to you when you're next to your last campfire, away from your camp, and can't craft a torch (no more grass for example). Running in circles around the campfire is always stressful as you need to add fuel at least one time during night.

 

2) Being purchased by the hounds during night, holding your torch, the first one runs out, it's replaced by the second one (ALWAYS have two torches ) and when you see that it's near 0% you try crafting another one and get killed.

 

3) Drumsticks falling in the ocean after killing a gobbler in a corner of the map.

 

4) Fire hounds setting all your camp on fire because it was killed by your bees instead of you.

 

5) The spider queen appearance when you try to destroy a 3rd tiers nest.

 

6) MacTusk chasing you down in Adventure Mode when you don't have any armor.

 

 

There's so much more things that I hate to see, but those situations are also why we love the game

My eye actually twitched in anger being reminded this is a thing that happens. I know that's the risk you run cornering them, but still!

I love clockworks. You can use the rooks instead of pigs to chop down trees for you. I always plant 100+ trees just out of aggro range of the rook then let it clear them for me.

Yeah its mostly the bishops that worry me since they're ranged

Armor mitigated the majority of damage taken from clockwork pieces. My mistake was feeling all powerful and godly after killing them and said the heck with trapping spiders, I'll take them on all at once. The nest was tier three and I barely got a hit in edgewise the way the spiders encircled me... I died when my armor broke and the spiders ate all my jerky and honey ham.
