Warly should be able to make butter and milk volt goats

Recommended Posts

Why should he be able to do that? There is a difference between "should" and "I would like to see" and "it would be nice". I mean, if you write "should" without a rationale or justification it does not make a lot of sense.

False.

Animal husbandry would be perfect for warly. Skills to accelerate reproduction and growth of both beefalo and volt goats with the ability to harvest horns from both without killing the animal allowing horn regrowth. As well as milking and butcher skills.

This would make a good path on a skill tree.

I’ve read several times that he could also get more meat when he kills stuff, which I think is fair too since he often says that he is “an accomplished butcher”.

But getting more/better ingredients feel more like QOL side perks for him really. I think his core skills should be based on much longer duration and stronger effects of special dishes on himself.

And probably a rework or an upgrade of his chef pouch, maybe making it an actual hat, and giving it fridge tier of conservation for food items (maybe make it warly exclusive)

Also, probably a hot topic but I don’t see why Warly has a higher hunger rate, he already has the non repeated dishes con and not being able to eat non-crock pot food, why make him more hungry too?

Um...he's just a cook, so I feel strange that the skill tree would allow him animal husbandry...I think of many cooks don't actually doing that. But I agree with adding his own recipes that use milk and butter.

That said, adding the "Animal husbandry" to DST sounds pretty cool. Personally, I wish there was some clear way other to collect resources from mods than TrapFarm what have to search online for construction.

Edit: I apologize for posting for a few seconds about the extremely cursed concept of "his own milk and butter" because my English and Google Translate are broken.

i do think warly is the type of chief that gets food fresh if he can, plus i really dont know how they continue buffing the chief route that it makes him unique from other people cooking stuff

Well, many scientists don't actually store food in their beards either.

Binding a rare item with a specific character is not a good idea, it will only make it more like a 'tool'. Many people switch to other characters after using Warly to make enough dishes, as the effects of these dishes are the same for everyone.
Considering his status as a chef and his own characteristics, the skill tree should align with them.
Warly will receive buffs after continuously eating multiple different dishes, such as faster movement, making items, and cooking food, until he eats repeated dishes. Increasing skill points can shorten recording time. This encourages players to create different dishes.
Warly can modify Crock Pot to cook dishes faster, cook double dishes at once, or improve the freshness of dishes. He can also make a food storage cabinet specifically for storing dishes, just like a salt box for storing ingredients.
Warly can also share recipes, teach other survivors how to cook unique dishes, and know in advance what to cook, he can gain sanity by helping others. . There is a set of skins for head chef and line cook in the game, which perfectly reflects them.

I will take any way to be able to reliably make butter regardless if it’s character specific or not.

I love the nature of the idea you rarely get butter from butterflies as it’s funny, but the problem is it really compromises it (and every butter recipe) past the very early game. In order to make a small quantity of butter exclusive dishes, you would need to kill hundreds of butterflies. The only way I feel you could get a “realistic” amount of butter is if you had 6+ players camping next to a single flower in base during summertime with Winona’s catapult/abigail killing the butterflies, but this assumes they stay within the small radius of where that flower is and are there constantly the entire time.

I think it’s pretty unfortunate and wouldn’t mind a mid-lategame way to be able to make butter easier, as I think a lot of the butter dishes are unique and it’s unfortunate you can’t really get a ton of them unless you put a large amount of effort into it, and doing that for pretty much any other source is going to give you significantly more returns than butter will.

Regarding butter, since it comes from butterflies, I think we should start with KLEI's design. The bees in the beehive have a small probability of planting higher-level flowers, and the variety of flowers will change with the seasons. These flowers may generate larger and more beautiful butterflies, and capturing and killing them can ensure the drop of butter. Using royal jelly in bee boxes can increase the likelihood of the appearance of advanced flowers.
This helps to solve the problem of useless flowers planted by bees, and also allows royal jelly to be used for more purposes. Players can mass produce even butter through their efforts, rather than just killing a large number of butterflies in an attempt to obtain a little bit of rare items.
This can give recipes that use butter a real chance to become the main force in the later stages of the game.

He's a growing boy. He needs to clean his plate so he can grow up big & strong.
