SoF and DST have the same kind of goofy animated shorts and when I first saw SoF I immediately asked the dev team at Klei if they helped with the animations. I never got a reply but you can clearly see how the two games would blend quite well.

Wurt could get several of the fishy fool character skins, I haven’t purchased Ship of Fools yet but it is certainly in my wishlist to buy later. <3

Personally, my perfect crossover would be with Cassette Beasts.

 

Uh, absolutely massive spoilers in the text blocks. Cassette Beasts is one of those games that I really can't recommend that you go in as blind as possible enough.

Don't Starve gets a Traffikrab pet, a few of the other monsters as pet skins (such as Spitzfyre as a Vargling skin), maybe a new monster or two in the flesh, and most importantly

One of the Archangels as a fightable boss. I'd personally go for Lamento Mori. Though I could also see any of them working depending on how Weird Klei wants to get.

And Cassette Beasts would get a handful of DST's monsters added to the Wilds of New Wirrel, along with

Celestial Champion boss fight, where it's dubbed the Archangel of Alteration.

Hollow knight would fit the most, even lore wise.

 

The ruins is very similar to hallownest. Both are ruined cities overtooken by an infection (the bugs turned to zombies, the ancients to shadows). Both are filled with dream energy. Both are mainly underground in caves. The grimm troupe visiting the ruins makes sense lore wise too, since nightmares, nightmare fuel, dreadstone and pure horror. They could be seaking for this nightmare fuel.

 

It fits so much. I am pretty sure the ancients are bugs too? Cave update + cool crossover sounds awesome. I can see some hollow knight bosses and enemies being able to be ported. They could make a version of the false knight, or maybe even grimm if they restructure the fight that would have a pre riff and post riff varient.

If anyone has ever actually played Lego Fortnite in survival mode, I think a collab with that could work extremely well for DST. Currently Lego Fortnite is invaded by Star Wars builds and enemies etc.. but, I’d love to be able to build or use DST themed contents on Lego mode.

Theres several reasons why Lego FN DST would be pretty fun-

#1 the world of Lego is full of things that “Hate you & want you dead”

#2 Hot & Cold Weather that’s tied to specific regions & biomes.

#3 Realistic Falling Physics (chopping down a tree makes the tree hit the ground and a large log roll down hills & if your unlucky enough.. Steam roll right through your village)

DST doesn’t even need to get any content in return, Klei just needs to make major Profits off people buying the expensive Lego building structures, and with all of the different furniture designs & crafting table types that are in Lego FN, there’s plenty of options to give them a DST spin.

I know I would totally buy some DST Lego stuff if such an option was to be made available.

What does major profits mean for DST & Klei? Well uhhhh hopefully it means bigger more significant content updates for their games.

(but also that they can afford a nice Thanksgiving & Christmas dinner for themselves & their families :) <3)

Wizard with a Gun. Giving us some new variations of ranged weapons instead of blowdarts, or magic items we could use to upgrade into something better. We got Hamlet blunderbuss and it's a handful to use, but it does it's job as a burst weapon with needed ammo after all so why not something with DST, right?

Terraria again to have a skin for beequeen and her hive and another terraria boss like eater of worlds with pugalisk mechanics. Also adding twins laser and flamethrower atacks to the ones in dst

Rotwood has a lot of cool monster designs and atacks that can be added to dst

Actually, wasn't there something found hinting towards that in the files?

I think so? That's what I had in the back of my mind, but unknown rn i guess. I wouldn't mind magic made gun of thulecite or other materials. At least a way to utilize burst damage of sorts for slow fights if it were to happen.

I really dislike Crossovers. They ruin the vibe of the game too much imo.
Thankfully the ones so far are optional. I always turn off the Terraria one and don't use the CotL skins.
So long as they remain entirely optional, doesn't matter what it is then.

I think the current ones do a good job of blending into the game's world (with the exception of a lot of the skins), but I don't want them to do crossovers very often because it risks diluting the game's identity

It'd also be funny to have ancient relic furniture in real life, like, imagine visiting a friend and they just pull up with a chipped chair.

The last crossovers weren't worse than the year of the dragonfly.

There's no point in announcing something, creating expectations in the community and not having time to really bring something exciting to the game.

And, taking advantage of the moment, Shield of Terror should be improved.
