Here we go again!
Rotwood is now in Early Access! Once again, we want to extend a huge “THANK YOU” to all of our playtesters and fans who have helped us up to this point. We appreciate the support and we can’t wait for you to see the results of that effort.

While we do try our best to make Early Access an enjoyable experience for our players, this is a time of active development, feedback, and changes. If you prefer to wait until the game is more fully formed, we totally understand, and we’ll be sure to let everybody know before any future price changes.

What is Rotwood?
If you’re not yet familiar with Rotwood; you should check out the Early Access announcement here. There is a lot of great information about the game and Early Access details in there for you.

What’s next?
For those of you who aren’t familiar with how we handle Early Access, you can expect an update post that will describe our priorities and a description of the general development cadence. We then reevaluate internally at various times and provide a new plan as we approach the delivery of what was outlined.

While we already have an idea of what we want to do, we would like to give the game some time to simmer with the community so we can listen carefully before committing to our next steps. It’s important to us to deliver on our plan properly and for that, we need to get a better sense of what you think of the game versus what we are attempting to deliver.

For now, our focus is entirely on gathering early feedback and bug reports and continuing work on the first big update. More details to come soon!

Thanks again, and have fun!

Hello there!
If there is any change of playing new Klei game on macOS, please send me a message to inform about. That is a potential a way to wait new Hades II, but in so comfy design and with unique heart and soul for this game.
With all kind and respect!

Amazing game guys, we are enjoying a lot! Think that i would like to see in the future:

- Full character stats during a run.
- Number of bullets left on the canyon.
- Spanish Language.

- Damage you are making during the run. (just to compare the DPS of the run with your teammates and help to decide which skill build you take)

Its an amazing game keep going like this!!

Thanks! :love_heart:

RotWood is an actual RogueLite game from Klei this time right? I can’t actually play RotWood until it ever releases to Xbox platforms (if it ever does) but as a RogueLite/Like enjoyer, I do have quite a few suggestions that are well to be short and to the point: Fairly Standard in most RogueLites/Likes.

Things such as Randomized Weapon loadouts, randomized enemy appearances, randomized map/level layouts, ability card choices, World Rule/Behavior modifiers, loot choices where you can only pick one and the other  choices you did not pick disappear. Etc..

Games like Spelunky 2, Dead Cells, Rogue Legacy, RAD, Trinity Fusion, EDO Zombie Uprising, Slay the Spire, Darkest Dungeons, Guidus, Dungeon Slasher (out on IOS & PC but coming to switch next month!) and Soul Knight.

In other words- Games where how well you will perform can never be based entirely off pure player skill levels alone, and more often than not, all boil down to the random weapons, blessings or map modifiers that are applied throughout your run along the way.

I haven’t been keeping up with RotWood development but, if it’s a RogueLite, like the ones above someone do please keep me updated on the development of this game!

One more thing I would like to pitch to the developers working on RotWood is a feature from a highly unknown game called “Full Metal Furies” this game is NOT a RogueLite, but it is made by the people who created Rogue Legacy & Rogue Legacy 2, what makes this game so bizarrely unique however: Is that the enemies within the game have colored shields that match the player, and only the player with that enemies matching color can deal damage to that particular enemy.

It makes for an Interesting setup in Coop play (you can even play FMF in single player by swapping in and out between two different characters!)

Finally I’d like to end this post by stating that I do not normally frequent forums outside of the DST section, but I am just so so so passionate and in love with the genre that is RogueLite/Like that I had to chime in my voice here while this game is still heavily in development! :love_heart:
