It spit out an entire beach full of pirate monkeys, that to me seems far more interesting then just having a lunar portal or shadow portal spit out a few lunar/shadow mobs. Id love to have unnatural portals find an empty spot in the ocean to spit out islands like Moon Quay, but with different themes such as Hamlet, Gorge or Forge. They can disappear, get sucked back into the portal they came out of or sink to the ocean depths after some time (just like a boat has a health bar telling you how long it has before sinking) but.. I think people are heavily disregarding the Unnatural Portal. Lunar/Shadow rifts have so far only spit out mobs to invade the world- Which is cool… but no where near as cool as having something like Moon Quay just drop into the otherwise empty oceans. ADM Posted November 20, 2023 Share Posted November 20, 2023 I agree shadow side has been feasting so far : fighting the Inkblights never get old, the acid rain might be underwhelming but I appreciate the change, advanced quakes are enjoyable since the pillars, and the rift itself is cool to visit, no complain from me ! The lunar side............................... the 3 new boss are super fun, yeah. But I'm not fond of the rest. BS are horrible, the rifts are kinda boring and leaves wasteland behind them, and the hail thing is nothing fancy. I do prefer so far the Brightshade equipment over the Void one but it's not too bad either. Alter should take notes. This is much better than the previous series of updates in my personal opinion. I'd like to see where this whole Rift thing leads in the end. I hope the developers will not just make a banal confrontation, but something more original. Well when Klei created DST they explained how all the survivors got into the same world by creating a gateway that pulled them into the same universe (think Marvel/DC Multiverse and you know what to expect) Prior to that every survivor with the exception of Wilson, Wes & Maxwell had been in their own realms doing their own thing. Shipwrecked & Hamlet the two DLCs of DS were also considered as their own “Universe” so in the same way that Klei created a Jury rigged portal to bring all the survivors together to the same universe, Whatever shenanigans Wagstaff is up to seems to be pulling content from other DS Universes into DST (Moon Quay) But that’s just my own personal head canon for what’s going on with the game and it’s story right now. Similarly to how a little drama teased in the final acts of the play that Charlie wanted to bring the shadow eye entity into the constant "they had finally found the one that would set them free" Moon Quay makes two things clear. 1) Wagstaff is trying to create portals in the constant 2) Wagstaff is toying with forces beyond his control and is resulting in rifts. Shadow rift downstairs already feels balanced and fun to play around, but I can't say the same for Lunar. So I would be excited for Lunar rift to get some tweaks and additions.
