Predictions for the next beta?

Recommended Posts

Not what you want to happen but what is your best guess on what might be added in the next beta. Thankfully my insider information has told me that wurt will be getting the best skill tree ever in the next beta but other than that what else do you see being added?

My uncle who works at Nintendo Kiel said Wurt's skill tree is gonna be like Wolfgang's because people said she's too strong already.

Edit: Also during this update all merms and frogs will now become pig guardians and wild boars.

I came on the forums to make a post predictions post, and i am flabber gasted. I think they will add 3 skill trees, and some riff content. It has been awhile since the last big update, and the cult of the lamb update was really small so i feel like they have a good amount of time on their hands for that. Maybe they plan on small updates in between bigger updates to give time for those ones.

If it is skill trees, probably Walter, Warly and Willow due to the common campfire prediction

Roadmap says there would be 3 game content updates this year, we’ve already gotten 2 of those 3. Roadmap also states we would get 2 QOL updates this year, we’ve yet to receive the first 1.

My guess is instead of Rift update #3, or a second batch of character skill trees, we will see a QoL update.

Personally I’m hoping for an entire QoL focused on updating the games existing biomes and empty boring AF ocean..

Theres a cute Otter & Otter Den & some adorable crabs in the Datamined thread, bring some of THAT in in a QOL update, JoeW did say that this years QoL updates would be bigger and more substantial to the point they shouldn’t even be called QoL updates.

So unless he was referring to skill trees.. Im expecting at some point existing biomes to get a 2023/2024 face lift.

I really doubt the next update will be skill trees, personally. I don't see them doing Skill Trees -> Bite-Sized Update -> Skill Trees.

It'll probably be the third From Beyond update, which originally I thought would be a mix of the Shadow and Lunar sides of things but since they've confirmed there were be more From Beyond updates, it might just expand on one (or both?) of the sides, like giving us more thralls.

More skill trees instead of a real update :steamsad:

Also it is still possible for them to combine with the qol updates. I am not sure how long skill trees take though the skill tree update came at a pretty good time after the shadow riffs. I wouldn't count out the possibility since the last update was bite sized.

I bet around October were getting a skill tree.

Willow had a picture along side cult of the lamb in "welcome to the cult" & the new "cult fire pit" give everyone Willow fire sanity perks

Webber was in the cult of the lamb update, so I'm betting them being one

Warly & Wilson both made a cake for cult of the lamb, so Warly might be another one

Atleast 1 post-rift raid boss, possibly 2 so each side has one.

New, stronger toys to play with from said bosses. demonstrating how Klei's plan to address power creep via rift content is just more power creep.

A new mechanic that everyone and their mother hates. To which Klei guts the feature into a shell of it's former self instead of properly addressing the issues with it.

Several posts complaining about the update. I will write atleast 1 of them.

I predict that the next update removes wurt

Dst players seeing basic progression and power scaling for the first time and calling it power creep is funny

I personally hope we get the rest of the skill sets, since it seems like at least a portion of the thought process of skill trees revolves around affinity between lunar and shadow. If we do get more end-game content, the characters without affinities will just feel... behind? until they get their skill sets as well.

That's just my preference, anyways, I'd like the skill sets out of the way so every character can be caught up for later updates.

Though that's just my hope, I predict we probably will have some sort of update not relating to the trees, since I understand it may be tiring for the developers to just work on character stuff for a few months.

Normally I'd agree with you. Infact, this is an argument I've said in favor of buffing brightshade gear myself.

But sense Klei confirmed outright that Post-Rift content is an anti-powercreep measure, not this time.

Ignoring all the... other problems with the concept for a moment, Klei making rift content to address power creep is quite literally the textbook definition of power creep. Klei felt that recent content updates where too strong for one reason or another. So now they're adding more purposefully stronger content to keep that old strong content in check. That is quite literally what power is. Give it another 5-10 years, and then Klei will be releasing Rifts 2: Electric Bogaloo because they felt that the content added in and after the from beyond arc also got too strong.

Would rather klei flesh out the caves instead of the surface biomes. There's sufficient enough things to do in the current surface biomes, meanwhile the caves have the archives, ruins, shadow rifts, and toadstool for unique content.

If it's to be QoL, trident rework and/or crab king rework would be much appreciated.
