JustAFlower Posted August 16, 2023 Share Posted August 16, 2023 Before I was using them for Ryftstals and Dreadstone Outcrops but you could use a cheaper method with a reanimated skeleton or a Brightshade Smasher. Plus, I don't craft Brightshade Bombs because you need Infused Moon shard, which is quite annoying to get at certain times (and it spoils overtime). Baark0 Posted August 16, 2023 Share Posted August 16, 2023 5 bombs is enough to kill a herd of brightshades (assuming they're clumped up). It should be one of the fastest ways to clear a herd of brightshades. Outside of that? It might have use vs CC's sleep pillars (assuming the bombs can break them), and I imagine it's a solid solution to clearing out monkeys/spiders/hound mounds. Idk why Klei made that change it was really bad, brightshade bombs are also way less efficent now compared to other brightshade weapons. Mike23Ua Posted August 16, 2023 Share Posted August 16, 2023 There’s a lot of items in DST that I never craft because the ingredients are either way way to hard to get, or the item itself isn’t all that useful. Infused Moonshards being required as a crafting ingredient is a bit weird for me, because Klei lets you activate Lunar/Shadow Rifts in world Gen settings, but you can NOT activate the Moonstorm in world Gen settings.. so this particular item is Gate-Locked behind reaching the Rifts the intended way. I still Struggle to kill some of the Weakest bosses in the game (spider queens often kick my butt..) so there’s no way in HELL I will ever reliably open rifts the intended way.. Charged moon glass isn't even that hard to acquire. Also there isn't that much use for them when you can use a sword or a staff with lower cost. We (a bunch of friends and online acquaintances) do such shenanigans on community dedicated Endless servers that are about to reset by players' unanimous vote: YOLO shenanigans parties. Am sure "advanced" griefers could do the same, but I doubt they would spend all that time acquiring them to only be kicked and server rb when Torch is accessible right out of Gate. Legitimate/actually functional usage? Probably vs slow/stationary bosses and maybe Brightshades. Yet Gunpowder is a lot more handy to make in late-game anyway, Planar damage or not. Not a too practical item in the end, Brightshade Bombs I mean.
