personally don't mind it. I think it's a nice passive way to build up rot from early game without wasting other resources and also makes me actually want to use Eye Mask again. It's not a game changer but it's still nice, I'd take it over tending range or mushroom planter skills. (Seriously? Mushroom planter? That thing not only is bad and needs not a weird character specific buff in general but it also is less useful for Wormwood than for other characters)

I would rather wormwood could shave off the bloom, -3 experience for +12 petals at once (petals also help to keep Abigail's urn in working order in winter)

I have been playing only Wormwood for more than a year now because I really like it both in lorno and in gameplay, and new crafts, ESPECIALLY REED, make it even more necessary both in a team and alone, but for large-scale farms, the thing is, as for me, this is a separate branch, and if you want to pump it, if you don't, it's your choice)

Why not just give the wormwood the opportunity to be a friend for the hystalts after killing the crystal champion, he seems to be their relative, so they often enrage)

Kind of like Lunar Champion's Crown Passive

Потому что это не то, о чем думают люди, когда они предлагают заменить обезьяньи хвосты долбаными пучками травы или остроконечными деревьями, ИМХО.

Monkey tails are the most useful thing for Wormwood in his skill tree, you can finally take a break from the eternal running to the swamp or the endless farming of them on monkey island. This skill is NOT IN ANY THE CASE SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED OR CHANGED WITH ANY HERB. EVEN. NOT. THINK

With love Wormwood main :)

Changes

  • The rare variant of the berry bush can now be crafted by enabling Wormwood's "Berry Bush Crafting" skill.

This is a fantastic addition, but i would still love for us to have a fake Variant of all Plantables in the decoration tab as a means to be able to decorate without having Brightshades taking over.
Still, fantastic addition, specially for those who are not able to set up lootworlds.

Why is everyone arguing about the plants perks and not the petal perk??? Give one reason that the petal perk should even exist. At least the other perks do something, regardless of how minimal that something is.

My only arguement in defence of the petal production skill is that you are passively producing organic stuff to use for the compost bin or to feed to pigs for poop or to leave to rot.

While it isnt a mindblowingly great skill... its an ok-esh skill for a farmer character like wormwood. It ranks above in usefulness to woodies goose being immune to wetness skill and wolfgangs auto workout gym skill. So its not like woodie and wolfgang dont have some terrible skills themselves.

Why does the Celestial Portal argument always end in "if you don't like it, don't use it" each and every time someone raises the (what I would say) valid complaint that too much of the character can be divorced from said character via the Portal.

Even if I were to personally land on the "if you don't like it, don't use it stance" (which is a valid stance and one I sometimes lean towards), having this issue addressed still benefits such folks.

Klei doesn't really take away things, so AT WORST, the character in question gets more perks.

In Wormwood's case, having these long-term perks are so desperately needed, yet somehow the argument always goes back to "just don't use it" instead of "MAKE IT BETTER!"

From my POV, you are indirectly advocating for less perks and a less complete character, even if that was not your intention.

They are working on these three characters right now, any complaints or issues that you think need to be addressed to make these characters a more interesting character that people will want to invest in the long-term is something I think every player would advocate for, regardless of their stance of the portal.

I like the petal production

now I won't be shamed making garlands so I can appreciate my skins, having extra petals on hand also helps making gift wraps during winter's feast and I can always top up Wendy's sisturn

would love to increase the stack size to 15 at least

After playing around with it a bit, I think that it is very versatile and great, currently, my only complaint about this perk is the maximum cap (10).

It can be left to Rot (takes some time but still usefull), given to pigs/werepigs to produce manure or burnt to ashes (for healing salves).

Taking time off from my European vacation to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I don’t know if Klei devs will ever understand how much - or for how long - I have waited for this.

Loving the changes so far. Love the new lucy quotes and especially the new woodcarve anim. Although atm it feels a bit sluggish to use, at most the faster board anim seems to be the exact same speed due to the slower windup of woodie grabbing Lucy before woodcarving.

Would it be possible if we had to hold Lucy in our hand to woodcarve? Would feel better to use her that way especially in-character he always holds her.
On that note, i've been thinking of the recent debates of the treeguard effigy stuff. And i was thinking, what if treeguards were always aggressive towards Woodie, none of that neutral effects around him, and he shouldn't be able to appease them. Would make the "At War with the trees" downside a bit more meaningful so you can't have em walking around and using them for your own benefits except for gathering living logs as they were intended to do. Plus, they hate him, why would they give mercy on him, he chops a whole forest daily.

EDIT: Also could it be possible if the treeguard dmg perks also had an effect on lucy as well? Not something insane like hambat dmg but even if its just spear dmg it'd be fine

Precisely. I dont like the CP so I don't use it. But good lord do I wish players didn't feel obligated to use it. Didn't know how to put that into words and you did exactly. Thank you Iakhnish.

I want to talk about Wormwood! I find it rather sad that this cute plant can't really take advantage of the Mushroom or Gardening skill trees when played alone! So it might be interesting to add a skill for each of these sections (like the ultimate skill for each woodie form) that would allow it to negate the non-healing food disadvantage, but only for that type of food. If you choose the mushroom path, blue shrooms could heal you, if you choose the gardening path, raw and cooked vegetables could heal you. It could be interesting if this effect "fades" after a certain number of uses and you need another insight point to learn it again, or something like that (to avoid spamming)... Tell me if you like this idea

It would be great if the wooden hat could be crafted by other characters, since the wooden suit can already. I understand that this update tries to give every characters unique crafts and abilities. But I think what Woodies got is already enough for making him unique.

It would be great and useful if Wormwood was able to also craft grasses, normal saplings, and mandrakes.

Alright, I'm going to assume from here on out that the ability to align with the lunar side and shadow side will extend past the skill trees, but even still, a skill from both alignments should be on every character, regardless of their canon alignments. We, as players, have no way of knowing how alignment affects the world of don't starve as a whole, especially if a war is coming, and giving a character benefits from one side ruins the choice aspect of the war. Want to choose this side? Should've played someone else. And yes, I love the ability to deactivate the skills. Doesn't make the idea of only being able to be on one side any less disappointing. And if we assume wormwood can align with the shadows despite his skillset, then he reaps no actual benefits from picking the side, so you'd put yourself at an intentional disadvantage. Plus, it doesn't even matter canonically. If wormwood has to learn a skill to align himself with the moon, then he wasn't aligned to begin with, so who's to say the shadows couldn't corrupt him?

Does wormwoods tree not have a shadow side for beating FW?
