On public servers basing in caves or making a small boat base is a better option or just not having a base? I remember in the earlier days of DST i used to play on a really popular europe PVP server, i would play for 80+ days without making a base, just put science machine or alchemy engine and you craft what you need. Its possible to survive or kill all bosses without having a base. Your best bet would be either rely on the person with the most played days to do the vote-kicking and rollbacking, or play moderated dedicated servers instead of klei ones if you're fine with more strictness. SinancoTheBest Posted March 27, 2022 Share Posted March 27, 2022 Report them to the owner of the NoGriefer mod with your evidence and download the mod, modifying it to only allert you when someone suspicious joins the server. If you're facing griefers in public servers, that's the best measure you can take against them besides rollbacks. Klei rightfully wont take specific actions agains them, everyone is free to do whatever they want in Klei Official Servers. ZombieDupe Posted March 27, 2022 Share Posted March 27, 2022 If deconstruction mechanics were reworked a little (maybe getting all resources back when hammering a structure since you would never use a deconstruction staff on one as that's a waste, or even being able to pack a structure to carry slowly on your back), flammable structures couldn't be lit by players directly, you could place them closer together under any condition (placing pots close to fridges for example even if fridges are placed first, being able to place structures even if there are items underneath), maybe not having collision boxes for most structures and being able to repair burnt structures with some resources, we would be seeing less of these threads. Even when it would successfully happen, it would be much slower to go through and would not cause anywhere near as much damage. I hope a future QOL can address this. Griefing won't ever fully go away, but at least with the right changes it can be mitigated significantly, to the point where in vast majority of cases it's not worth it for someone who for whatever reason likes to grief. Maybe Klei should look at it as a message, some people will grief so long as they are able to, so change some actions so they are not able to. You gain more than you lose, simple as that. Not even the most evilest man would cross this boundary, yet here we are witnessing a man to become so outraged by this so called griefer.
