2021 roadmap predictions

Wagstaff.  I just want Wagstaff.  But if they add Wallace I would be happy.  Especially if they go with the "crazy musician" complex that Muzarello suggested.  But Wagstaff is still my main hope for 2021

That Wallace Guy could be a crazy musician, if he ever makes it to the game.  He sure has the looks of a nice gentleman

In my case, I expect the finale of the "lunar quest" and I don't expect any NEW character, but I expect (or I hope for) an already existent DLC character to be ported. I don't know which one, though.

I don't know, I like new content like the lunar archives (which was nuts), but what always makes me go back to the game are the character refreshes and new additions.

My only concern is that, if they add every single DLC character, they will kinda kill Solo DS (one can argue the content is different and blabla, but I see myself playing solo DS because of Wilbur, Wheeler, Wilba, Woodlegs, etc). That is my opinion anyway, don't throw much manure at my face.

While this is a legit concern: Players who buy Hamlet gain access to Wormwood for Free (PC only sadly) but- this is a clear indication that Klei could make it so that if you own the solo game dlcs you have instant access to the dlc characters: and anyone who doesn’t own those DLCs can still weave them at 2700 spool like Wurt & Wortox.

For Me personally: playing single player is all about its Adventures mode & having an actual pause button (as well as having pre-refresh versions of the games playable cast) that last part is highly important: Wormwood doesn’t play exactly the same way as he did in Hamlet and neither does Warly- they both got tweaks and changes to feel different enough and welcome in DST.

The DLCs main selling point should be having entire WORLDS themed on Hamlet or Shipwrecked.. not it’s cast of characters.

If Warly & Wormwood came to DST from those DLCs- it would just feel unfair if the rest didn’t eventually make the cast too.

I say this as a CONSOLE Player who didn’t get the Hamlet DLC until year 2020.... but have been playing as Wormwood in DST since before Hamlet was even a thing.

I still bought the single player DLC though: to play in those entire worlds designed on Hamlet content, and to also play as Wormwood in DS Single Player.

Conclusion: Clear evidence that adding the DS DLC Cast to DST won’t kill solo DS: In fact as with my case- it could drive further sales FOR IT.

EDIT: There’s also MODS on the PC Version of the game that Klei officially acknowledges and provides links for that let people playing on PC play with those Characters and things from those dlc worlds and for 100% completely FREE, If anything was going to kill Solo DS’s sales it would be those free mods entire existence...

But Console players want to enjoy that content too Ya know? So I’m praying someday they bring em in officially.

What is this sudden hype for a 2021 Roadmap, we're already one month closer to 2022 at this point and 2020 Roadmap was simply a reaffirmation that Klei is working hard on the game and will keep providing new updates and reworks without a set number of updates or characters to be declared.

IF they decide to make a 2021 Roadmap, I fully expect it to be a quite general, non detailed testimony on their determination to continue bringing the updates this year too, rather than earthshattering news on new characters, details on the updates or statistics about the game; just like the 2020 one.

As far as I remember we are SUPPOSED TO have a roadmap, right? I am not a big fan of the hype either, because roadmaps lost their magic for me when Klei stopped caring about it either.

My expectation from this year's roadmap is, I hope Klei actually keeps their promises this year. Last years were great on paper. Remember the Hamlet DLC? Klei released it and, done... The DLC is nothing but a mess full of bugs and glitches and unfinished mechanics that Klei never speaks of (Aporkalypse, World Gen [I swear if I see one more post about Hamlet not spawning again on Reddit I will go on a vacation] and a lot more).

If the latest studio announcment is as good as it is said (at this point if one doesn't doubt that it will be bad then they should stop reading this.) hopefully Klei actually makes at least 80% of what will be promised.

Don't all characters transform into an immobile version of Wilton?

I wonder, would Wilton transform into an immobile version of Wilson?

Also, to stay at least a bit on topic, I wonder what'll be next after YOTB. My guess is a character rework, but what I'd rather see is of course the next chapter of the Return of Them.
