He would infinitely stay at here if I don't attack him. He should be my pet. One of them was trapped in my farm by giant vegetables for a long time. He eventually was no longer there, not sure what caused him to no longer be there. Maybe they just despawn. Yeah im pretty positive they despawn, I think it happens when theyre alone in a herd and are out of screen? I'm not too sure. I might take a look at it later to see the specifics. I hope it just keep staying in there. CaptainChaotica Posted January 18, 2021 Share Posted January 18, 2021 I don't have a steady pet skittersquid at my main base, but at my SUMMER base they keep running across the screen every now and then, and I consider that a feature not a bug. It's frickin' adorable! (This picture is from before the base got built out this far.) I guess the "unofficial pet" of my main base is that moleworm that's been there forever, but that's MY fault for building where its lair already was, and not caring. : P I deliberately gave it a piece of flint for Winter's Feast last year. Heh. (I was feeling generous. Everybody got something! Yes they eat all fish nearby, they’re not hostile unless you attack them first- But when you DO attack them they have some pretty fun and unique attacks, they spin after you like a helicopter blade, spit ink on you to obscure your screen view, and they gang up on you in groups. I think they are a nice addition to the game. And it seems they come ashore and roam the land during Summer season more than any other season (possibly because the water gets so hot) either way: Skittersquid are fun! They've got some cool attacks that you don't see because their attacks are so weak and their vision obscuring so strong the best way to kill them is just hold F and by the time you're unblinded they're all dead. I do really like seeing other people get blinded, though. It looks pretty funny.
