Wurt says “Glurgh, what this weird feeling?” (close to that) when joining the game, maybe caused by being Wonkey previously? I expect here to say “Merms have new King!” or something but I get this exclamation instead, which seems to indicate that something is wrong. I was Wonkey a little while ago so maybe it could be that?

Should I report this as a bug?

probably not a bug if you still got at least 1 trinket, report otherwise

Ohh of course I picked up four trinkets after transforming back. Totally missed that vital detail.

New question: How to move all client save data to a migrated-to-local game?

I have a game on a dedicated server hosted by a cloud provider. I decided to move it locally since I’ve been playing alone for a long time now. I moved the whole <player id> directory with the Master, Caves and cluster.ini files to the correct folder on my computer and renamed it to Cluster_27. That was all fine. But when I joined the game locally all my map progress was gone. Is that some kind of client save data that I need to transfer somehow?

Is there another person who thinks the "winter feast" eating animations are the weirdest animations in the whole game? I wonder who on earth eats their food like this. [to me that just looks creepy] [and I already considered the normal long eating animation for meat items creepy before]

This is another one of those annoying questions my mind comes up with in the middle of the night:

Is it just my lack of using the search function, because I don't want to read through a whole thread only to realize it is closed or too old to reply to, OR does this forum, compared to other fandom forums [granted, I can only compare to classic internet forums up to around 2007] have a surprisingly small amount of headcanon talk / stuff? [probably because obviously the gameplay-aspect is the main focus here, so I don't mind a lot. I'm just surprised compared to other various fandom forums I used to know in my youth were most of the topics was about fan-ideas [that includes every art / creative stuff] compared to the everything else.]

Might be deserving of a thread, but I'll ask here first:

How many people are still using Reap What You Sow content? I've noticed myself subconsciously not using farms at all in favour of transplantables and meat farms. Aside from Wormwoods and people who enjoy it, is there a point to traditional farming now?

Playing as wurt, farms are the last thing I touch due to kelp, but as others Charaters, they are my best source of mass producing sanity food for other characters (and ig wurt) while also getting stuff for warly spices. Yeah bananas are more effective but I enjoy farming more than picking bananas.

The farming mechanics are quite good, so I understand why people do it exclusively because they enjoy it. I'm worried that other farms and additions have make them inefficient to the point that it's only worth doing it if you enjoy it, not as a competitive food source. It's kind of sad that this intricate and well thought out system is often not interacted with in favour of plants that have no interesting mechanics (and therefore downsides) at all.

I'm surprised that even as Wurt, farms aren't the first choice. As for sanity food, bee boxes are exceptional and cactus have me covered (I like basing near the Dragonfly desert).

In my established world, only when I feel like it, in new maps or in multiplayer all the time. They work just like old farms if you want to just slap some seeds and forget about them, so they're useful for some free food while I'm busy with everything else.

I play warly so i use it but since the addition of bannana bushes i dont farm as much as before but i think is a fun mechanic that brings a lot of profit if done well and invest enough time to do big areas of giant veggies

thanks to this post i will come out of reviewing to poll the forums for a general food source usage databank

also, yes, i am borderline obsessed with farming, especially hex format, and will spend years simply just building a critical mass of food i am never going to use. Especially in winter. Because I used to be unable to farm in winter.

case in point:

I think good players understand that farms are not as powerful as just killing a pig and making a meaty stew. New player however don't and I see it as very viable for people to get a grasp on the hunger until they learn there are better options

All the time. Especially as a Wormwood Main. It was the best patch we've ever had imo. Even as non-wormwood I still farm regularly. It makes food a non-issue (which is a questionable thing frankly)

I’m conflicted. On the one hand I think it’s the best update to the game in terms of game mechanics: you can use farms straightforwardly or you can plan it all out with spreadsheets. On the other hand I hardly ever use them unless I’m (brace yourselves) preparing food for a Warly portal swap. Or maybe to make spicy vegetable stingers.

But there’s no strong reason for me to not get into it a bit again. It’s not like I play to rush or play optimally in any way. I’m playing Wurt now and it could be nice to have a proper farm setup now that I can outsource that tedious plot plowing.

I use them more for the sanity dishes (potato puree and salsa), but hunger and health wise, I don't need them, as I always have a surplus of food. You may feel that you don't use them for the same reason.

... can simply examining an eel (or fish morsel) dismiss merms? I tried to kill one but I didn’t consider that it’s already dead. I think Wurt did a work animation as well and then said “I can’t do that”. Then the merms shuddered and peaced out.

Eels and Pond Fish were both reworked/split into living and dead versions.

If you can stack it and it has X's for eyes, its dead. I just made sure and killing a living Eel can disperse them!

Ah yes I goofed I must have killed it and then not had enough inventory space for it. Thanks.
