Does Bernie regenerate out of combat with the skill tree skill? I was almost certain it only worked in combat, but I was watching a guide with someone using an HP-see mod and Bernie was regenerating health and clearly not in combat.

Would you rather adopt a shadow creature as your pet or a gestalt creature?

For me, I already have too many shadow creature pets, I'd adopt a surplus of gestalts pets so they can finally help me get a normal sleep.

(alternative way to ask:

Would YOU rather wanted to get "ADOPTED" by a shadow creature as their "pet" or by a gestalt creature? )

In real life, none, I don't want to end up in a sanatorium.

In game, a gestalt!

^^ Irl I fear I have involuntarily BEEN adopted by shadow creatures thats why I would honestly often like to have a gestalt.

In-game I'd rather adopt a shadow creature pet, because I like insanity more than lunacy.

Does anyone know what exactly does this button do (Clean All)?
image.png.7f4eccd3013a8a04ef760568840306d9.png

A, does it unsubscribe all of my mods and resubscribes to them while clearing settings?
B, does it just unsubscribe from all my mods?
C, just clears all settings?

Why do pigs think that a tree is mean when they join you in the chopping action?

("Smash mean tree!") Do they think you were attacked by the tree and try to protect you? (that's adorable, they are so kind and loyal, not even questioning anything, just rushing to save you)

I think I have pressed that thing ONCE and it cleared all my settings, it definitely DID clear all the settings, but I can't remember whether it also deleted / unsubscribed all mods as I only had one mod active at that time. I don't think I had to manually resubscribe it though, but I may remember this wrong so don't count on it, please!

How can bunnyman see meat inside your inventory but not inside Wilson's beard? Is it some kind of smell thing? Is Wilson so stinky that they can't smell it on his beard?

They see the beard as a friendly Beardlord, and it gets a pass.

I want to ask the Klei devs a particular question and hopefully I can get a response.

In the animated shorts we see the world of Dont Starve/ Don’t Starve Together portrayed in a way that isn’t representative of actual gameplay..

Using the newest short as an example: We witness a Catcoon steal Abigail’s Flower and then flee to transfer down into a cave with it.

And I was just wondering why that isn’t possible in actual gameplay?

I know that a lot of games make these huge cinematic trailers that are nothing like the game but… I kinda feel like that at the very least- on the PS5 and Series X that the things Klei portrays in cinematic footage would actually be possible in actual gameplay.

Things like pigs raiding your camp, or shadow creatures weaving in and out of different shadows of obstacles or even just the small details of spiders climbing up and down on their dens.

Why is the world of Dont Starve in Cinematic portrayed in a way the actual gameplay can’t seem to capture?

because that'd be mostly pointless because most wendy players never drop the flower and even if it'd get stolen after their death, they'd probably just make another flower because of getting confused about where did it go and not thinking about searching in caves because no creatures except bats can enter and exit caves on their own

Bats don’t actually enter or exit caves, they only spawn from the unplugged sinkhole once you mine it open.

If they COULD enter and exit caves then they’d follow you down into them from the surface shard and attack you.

Because one doesn't need to be maintained. Whilst time consuming and requiring a huge amount of skill, a video animation requires less resources to create and no upkeep (in relation to the actual created video) to maintain. The resources required to have this represented in game would require more work Mike.

It's flavour.

To answer your question in an easier way though; They either want to or don't want to do it, they either can or can't do it, they either will or won't do it.

Edit: I obviously misunderstood something :p

so someone mentioned using gunpowder on a boss in another thread and i am super curious;

what bosses DO take reasonable enough damage from gunpowder to be a reliable and viable strat? i stopped using it for anything other than dock-removal in dst so i have no idea

Just got the update, totally missed out o this one. Wondering what people recommend for Wurt's skilltree and also what tricks with Mermguards you have.

I don't know how this is done exactly but I saw Jakeysaurus build an enclosure around Merm King and force merm guards out by killing him. Is this really faster than building normal houses? I don't like hitting the ruins with Wurt so it would be nice to replicate this in the caves at least.

All the bosses take the same amount of damage from gunpowder. They also get damage reduction after blowing up a stack, but as long as you wait out to light up another stack you should be fine if you want to use more.

Ig AFW is a good candidate, you can bring him down to 2k hp and have him summon only 1 set of woven shadows / shadow hands, cutting down on other resources
Otherwise, all the bosses you can put to sleep / freeze are also a good fit, to make sure they hits land. Maybe dragonfly to trigger her stun, or bee queen if you find her minions annoying.

ok, so nothing has changed. thankyou for letting me know ^^

Now that is probably the worst silly noob question that has ever been asked, and that you probably wonder why I have not asked back in 2014 when I joined this forum but:

How on EARTH do you people manage to catch that boomerang. In all my years playing don't starve / together I have never been using this thing, because no matter what I tried, with the mouse buttons or since a handful days since I started to use the spacebutton and ctrl+f for the first time I still end up dead each time I try to figure out this cursed thing.

I literally have the game open right now because I finally want to know how this dreadful item can be used without the intention of ending one's own life early. So if someone can give me a rough instruction I would be happy. It MUST have to do with clicking some button or pressing some key after all.

It even says "catch" when I hover over myself and still I end up with "Maxwell got killed by boomerang"

I have tried that several times by now and still "Maxwell got killed by boomerang" (even when I try out with Wilson or standard Maxwell) so it's likely not a problem with my custom Maxwell.

OK I suppose this item was simply not made for my unfocused-hand that apparently even fails to press a key at the right time.

I'm currently transitioning from "Surviving perpetually & Exploring the world" to "Taking on the constant." I want to continue playing as Wendy, as I find her more enjoyable then most of the rest of the cast (willow, wigfrid, wortox and woodie are fun too, but I want to stick with Wendy). I'm aware that taming Beefalo is the best way of turning Wendy from a weak boss combat unit to a pretty strong one, but I'm unsure if it's worth the effort.

So, my question is, how intensive is it to properly tame a beefalo, how difficult is it to get an Ornery beefalo compared to the other types, and what else should I know before trying to tame one? Any advice in general would be appreciated.

The only other thing I'm struggling with is a food source. Monster meat/eggs is enough to live by, but I don't know what the best method is to stock up on Pierogi's for in combat healing.

Generally beefalo is easy, just feed it enough to hop on and continue riding. Then also fight random stuff like bees and pigmen or spiders to make it ornery. Beefalo annoys me personally but I don't struggle with it.

For food, there is farming, but generally exploring and just foraging works.
