We need mangoes

Recommended Posts

Me and my gang have survived over six hundred days now. Game is good, still got lots to improve on builds when times were harsh. But I feel we've exhausted all the content the game has to offer. I appreciate Klei adding the sea so we can finally sail on a boat. And as much as I am disappointed the untouched paradise I was expecting to touched by hellish lovecraft offsprings, I am perfectly fine the tropical island we are meant to reach is yet to be revealed. My friends and I want to retire and start harvesting mangoes, farmers.

I'm sure you realise our situation and understand how much it will mean for us to finally be able to fulfil our plans and dreams.

I mean. How can I take a stance against dreams of mango farming?

This game has a LOT of content and a big part of it is hidden, or half-hidden. I know it would be far from mangoes, but going down the cave and finding the Ruins and the boss who sleeps deep within it is super fun and dangerous. There are lots of bosses in DST in secret places.

But okay, you have a burning, unavoidable, growing desire for tropical farming. All your friends can download the Tropical Experience mod to DST (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1505270912), which brings into Don't Starve Together the wonderful DLCs from the single-player Don't Starve series. The Shipwrecked DLC is one of them. My absolute favorite game, and it's all about untouched paradises. You find all its contents in that mod.

Here are the two other extensions to the mod you also have to get:

My friend, we have descended deep into that cesspool of inbred apes and steam clockwork machinery. With lamps in our hands and football helmets on our heads, and our beloved sentry with moggles we found our way through the maze filled with furry spiders and knocked that biped behemoth into next year. Found the giant tentacle leading us to another chamber with walls we had to traverse through magic canes and buried that black beast six feet under where it belongs. I love me a thulecite throne made from excess of said material. But with its colour I think it will really complement a mango tree next to it.

Indeed I must recognize the profound and urgent need for mangoes and the trees that bear it. The elation and relent it provides. Not only as a valuable asset, but as a provable and objective necessity.

Yeah.. something PC players can enjoy, meanwhile console players have to hope and pray our desires to be able to do what these mods do does not fall upon deaf ears. It saddens me deeply to know that the things I’ve begged for like a broken record since joining these forums can already be achieved using a PC Mod.

Shipwrecked and Hamlet Biomes, Mobs and playable characters are at the TOP of my list of things I want for DST.

And I should leave a disclaimer that I am not begging Klei to pile all that content into DST for Free and forget the single player expansions, I’m just asking that they make the expansions I have bought.. compatible with DST so me and a friend or two can enjoy Shipwrecked or Hamlet content together. Theres already PC Mods for it... I just need it to become Official.

Edit- oh and also +1 for Mango farms!

I vote for both!  :)

The "Tea and Trees" used to be a simpler, just-one-mod way of getting mango trees, but I don't think that one works anymore.  Maybe it'll be updated or forked, I dunno...

(of course that still doesn't work for console players, yeah I know.  I'd still like to be able to put it back in my game sometimes.  it gave you green kitties.  GREEN KITTIES!)

...Notorious

I work with fruit trees during the summer and would LOVE any kind of fruit tree farming in DST. I keep on forgetting pomegranates grow on trees because they grow from seeds in this game.

It can also be seasonal (like peaches and plums in the summer, apples in the fall, etc) which can spice up food gathering.
