cantbeatdaboss
SOMEONE TOLD ME TO PUT A SPOILER WARNING FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO EXPERIENCE THE UPDATE FOR THEMSELVES, SO HERE IT IS IT IS LIKELY THAT SOME OF THESE THINGS WILL BE CHANGED IN THE FUTURE SO TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT (COOKING PUN INTENDED) Overview Spoiler With the sudden storm of streamers getting early access to Warly, we now have a much firmer grasp on what his abilities will be. We also now know about many of the new recipes and vegetables given to any character. This will be divided into separate sections for each part of this update. Warly abilities Spoiler To start off, everything that the developers said seems to be true about Warly, with the added bonus of his chef pouch. For anyone that hasn't seen his abilities, these are what he has (from the developers' post): *Warly starts with a Portable Crock Pot, 2 potatoes and 1 garlic Warly can craft a Portable Crock Pot, Portable Grinding Mill, and Portable Seasoning Station, usable only by him. The Portable Crock Pot cooks 25% faster and includes new exclusive dishes with unique bonuses and effects. The Portable Grinding Mill can be used to craft a variety of seasoning powders. The Portable Seasoning Station combines a prepared dish with seasoning powder to add bonus effects to the food. Warly has an increased max hunger of 250, but it decreases 20% faster than other characters. Warly can only eat prepared dishes from a Crock Pot. Warly remembers the dishes he ate for up to two days and will enjoy them less every time they are repeated. *Warly can craft his Chef Pouch with 4 cut grass, 4 twigs, and 2 niter, which has 6 slots and slows down food spoilage *Can cook on campfires/firepits faster New vegetables/additions Spoiler With Warly comes 6 new vegetables to the constant, all of which can be obtained via random chance when planting seeds, I do not know the percentage chances of getting any of the new ones. You can also feed these vegetables to a bird in a bird cage to get seeds from them. These new vegetables are: Toma Root, Potato, Asparagus, Pepper, Onion, and Garlic. In addition to this, the Insulated Pack has received a buff so that it can compete with the Chef Pouch, now boasting 8 slots instead of 6. New recipes Spoiler There are 8 new recipes that all survivors can make (credit to Glermz on the DS/T discord for recording all of these and taking the screenshot at the bottom, and to the DS/T and SU discord communities for informing me of extra abilities) Mashed Potatoes - Potato x3, Garlic Asparagus soup - Asparagus x2, Veggie x2 Vegetable Stinger - Asparagus, Tomato, Veggie, Ice Banana Pop - Cave Banana x2, Twig, Ice (or 1 banana 1 twig 2 ice) - Temporarily lowers temperature Ceviche - Fish x2, Ice x2 - Temporarily lowers temperature Salsa - Tomato x2, Onion x2 Pepper Popper - Pepper x3, Meat Warly-specific recipes/seasoning Spoiler Warly has 11 exclusive meals that can only be made in the Portable Crock Pot (credit to Glermz on the DS/T discord for recording all of these and taking the screenshot at the bottom, and to the DS/T and SU discord communities for informing me of extra abilities). Recipes Nightmare Pie - Nightmare Fuel x2, Onion, Potato - Swaps health percentage and sanity percentage Volt Goat Jelley - Volt Goat Horn, 3 Honey - Temporarily adds electrical damage to all attacks Glowberry Mousse - Glowberry x2, Fruits x2 - Provides light around the player temporarily Frog Fish Bowl - Frog Legs x2, Fish x2 - Sets wetness to 0 Dragon Chili Salad - Dragonfruit, Pepper x3 - Provides warmth for 1 day Gazpacho - Asparagus x2, Ice x2 - Lowers temperature for one day (not sweet) Potato Souffle - Potato x2, Egg x2 Monster Tartare - Monster Meat x3, Any Veggie/Fruit/Meat Fresh Fruit Crepes - Fruits x2, Butter, Honey Bone Soup - Bone Shards x2, Onion x2 Moqueca - Fish x2, Onion, Tomato Warly can make 3 exclusive seasonings that can only be made with the Portable Grinding mill that can be put on any crock pot meals using the Portable Seasoning Station for bonus effects. Seasonings Garlic Powder x2 - Garlic x3, grants +33% damage reduction temporarily to anything it is added to Honey Crystals x2 - Honey x3, grants the ability to chop and mine things with 50% less swings than normal temporarily to anything it is added to Chili Flakes x2 - Pepper x3, grants +20% damage dealt temporarily to anything it is added to None of these will affect any followers, including Maxwell's shadows Skins/Images Spoiler On the left is his Roseate skin, the middle is he Trawler skin and on the right is his Victorian skin. Additional thoughts Spoiler I think that Warly and all the new content that comes with him (especially the insulated pack buff) are all great additions and will fit in with DST and only make it more enjoyable. The only two complaints I have are that (1) I will have to stop playing Wormwood because Warly is too appealing and (2) that most of Warly's skins, especially his Victorian one, are all lackluster in my opinion. I love the fact that he indirectly buffs Woodie as Woodie can utilize the honey seasoning but Maxwell cannot You may have noticed that I did not include hunger, health and sanity values for any of the foods or specific time/intensity values of any of the special effects. This was mostly because of limited information and my own laziness, but if anyone has those values and really wants to be nice for no reason, if you respond with a version of one or both of the lists with that information I will gladly use it and credit them. If you notice anything that I either did not include or got incorrect, please let me know (with what is correct) so that this can be as accurate as possible. Major thanks to Splorange/Splortox (depending on what you call them) for providing a lot of the information in this guide.

WoodieMain45684
One thing though; how long do these effects seem to last from the seasonings? Oh and from Griver84's stream I saw this: Frog fish bowl sets wetness to zero.

I don't know how long each effect lasts for besides the salad and asparagus one I can't spell without looking at, thanks for pointing that out though. Brago-sama
I want to see if those attack and defence dishes stack with each other. If they do it basically that'd be awesome. If not it wouldn't be the worst

So I guess you can... Just saw it in a video

I hope the devs don't nerf the food because of it for all characters cuz even if that's super strong on Wolfgang they just spawned like 200 plus darts that are kinda hard to get irl unless you have Reed trap plus Wicker. So no.. This is no measure of adjusting anything for all characters. If anything they should adjust Wolfgang to it. Cosheeta
I love the idea of allowing wolfgang to do this as is. But for the sake of arguing. Maybe wolfgang would just be immune to pepper spice. Like something about him being too much of a manly man to even register it as spicy at all for his tastes But seriously though the ultimate power potential here is just too amazing to leave out
Canis
Im really happy we have access to the recipes now. It saves us time going through trial and error. Also, I can now fulfill my dream as a useful base squatter and live a peaceful farm life. Edit: I have put together a formatted and easy-to-read list of Warly's recipes and seasonings, along with their effects. You can have this open in Notepad or something while playing DST so you don't have to memorize recipes during the first few days of Warly's release. I also gave space for each food item's stats, but since we don't know them yet, they're shown as ?s. YouKnowWho
One more change of note here, though I don't really know where'd you put it on the list... Spoiler They fiddled with default Warly a bit, specifically his side view. Honestly, I just originally going to just make an unfunny joke about cheekbones, but having them side by side this way really shows how much they've actually changed him up. It's a lot more consistent with his front and back views, making him look much less baby-faced than he did earlier. Really goes to show the effort Klei puts in these new characters, eh? If a Suspicious Dirt Pile would spawn in oasis desert every summer during sandstorm, leading to a single Volt Goat in case of if the Volt Goats go instinct before summer starts, that would be enough for me. Same for Beefalos in a savannah during spring, and No-Eyed Deers in deciduous biome during autumn/winter (as much as I know they can go instinct too). Also, please add an easier way to obtain Bone Shards, it's not really fun to die several times on purpose or to clean the tentacle trap next to the Spawn (don't accuse me, I don't make traps like these). Perhaps increase the spawn chance for Bone Shards from any sources (Tumbleweed, Catcoon, etc.), allow us to hammer Hound's Tooth for Bone Shards (50% to get 1x Shard), or add a mob dropping Bone Shards.
