ToiDiaeRaRIsuOy Posted July 2, 2019 Share Posted July 2, 2019 Hello, I was just thinking with this much new content, there's a high risk a big group of testers will try out the same couple of asteroids, reducing the amount of info and data the developers are getting. So I was thinking we might be able to put our heads togethers and plan who tests out which asteroid, and help out the developers. All of course to get the best release possible down the line. I am currently wrapping up my They Are Billions campaign and I think I will be able to start testing ONI later this week. So you guys post here which asteroid you are testing, and I will then choose one that is the least picked currently. Though if anything, I will probably play Rime but only when enough patches have dropped to make a full playthrough not a nightmare. Ofc those net the best data but also take the longest and ultimately what matters is whether the feedback is good or bad. Experience tends to improve quality but false one speaks disaster. For the time being, ya find me on my blackboard theorizing and connecting the dots, seeing where what is missing and if it should be missing like that Rime must by no means lack Space Kittens and if there are none in the frozen forest, i will make it that they will be there! (And I will make them survive! The trees as well... they are there but they quickly freeze, 15°C minimum my behind.) Machenoid Posted July 3, 2019 Share Posted July 3, 2019 Volcanea becomes very difficult to survive in depending on how many obsidian boulders have breached the magma pockets. The tone of the game changes very quickly when you notice 100 degree temperatures creeping up on you through the rock; Build an insulated shell around your colony components or get cooked. It becomes a genuine engineering challenge. It's also enjoyable seeing slime biomes turned into hot dirt and steam biomes. Bonus points if there are pacu egg shells on the ground. (It really adds to the atmosphere that "Life was here... Was.") natanstarke Posted July 3, 2019 Share Posted July 3, 2019 I tried arboria had fun/got wrecked in oasis and now im having fun in oceania i strongly think oceania and volcanea should start in the forest biome, water weeds should give a lot less calories making us needing huge farms of them " this would be cool and strong and balanced " and reduce the ammount of wood trees give per harvest that way they wouldnt need to change anything else to balance not even the pip diet because its based on msturation of the branches :). Also we re needing new oxylite recipe for maps without gold. Granted wolframite sources. And a new critter for the rust biome " i keep telling that dreckos just dont fit there " someone posted in a topic that there could be a variant there that can be shaved for rust for example, i suggested a new metallic critter. EnderCN Posted July 3, 2019 Share Posted July 3, 2019 I'm trying badlands right now. It is a pretty boring map to be honest. Lots of rust biome which makes temperature control easy early game. Food hasn't been an issue even with it turned up 1 level. Lots of really boring areas to dig through. Long term water may be a concern though I just found a water geyser right under my base in a rust biome so that should hold me for a good bit. Not having slime or polluted water kind of makes things dull. On a side note, allergies isn't a big deal anymore! Couldn't get a good dupe to save myself and finally took one with allergies and it hasn't been an issue even with stress turned up a level. Since the devs just completely killed my Oceania food production with the last update, that may be a good idea. Not complaining, this is preview, it is intended for doing things like that. Had to start a new map a couple days ago due to a crash and literally just got a water weed farm up and running this morning, pre-patch. Oh well. Time to try out the new world attributes/modifiers.
