Have there been changes to basic longstanding world gen in the Beta?

It's hard to tell because adding the ocean changes a lot of things about the map, but I did encounter, for example, this configuration in a pig village that I don't recall ever seeing before:

Maybe it's been in the game all along and I've just never come across it? Does it look familiar to anyone?

The pigmen, merms and the assortment of moles I’ve seen before I don’t think that’s new.

Other set pieces and the arrangement of the land seems to be slightly off though. I don’t know if it’s just the new ocean playing tricks on me but it feels like there are more peninsulas, land bridges, and the overall world generation seems “thinner”. I’m not sure how else to describe it.

This is a setpiece thats been in the game before the beta, it rare to see not because of rarity, but becuase they usually finsh beating each other up before you see them.

I've had the pigs v. merms setpiece many, many times, but never the square pig house formation. But if other people remember it, then I'm sure it pre-existed this beta.

I also go this, in the caves, right by an entrance:

I've never seen a broken clockwork outside of the ruins before.

I've noticed that too. Look at them holes, I did have a mod on to increase the number of setpieces (that's why I have a houndmound and Queen's gathering (also day 4 moggles)).

I've also noticed that some setpieces appear to have part of them forced out onto the ocean (see the clockwork square to the left of the Pig King, and also the second spoiler).

For some reason, two of the pig heads didn't generate.

i've seen houses like that in DS

The world itself seems to be a lot more... chunky. There are a lot of holes in the map and it's separated out a lot. I imagine because of having to flex things around to accommodate the islands but it's caused a few weird issues. Set pieces being broken that I've never run into being broken before, super tiny biomes (my pig king area is miniscule and didn't have a glommer near it, etc).

I've seen this happen before the beta. Although I encountered a slurper and a single patch of lichen.
