New Character Ideas

I want a Witch character, who's main trait is to make potions do modify stats, like damage multiplier's, speed boosts or defense buffs, all temporarily of course. As a disadvantage she would be a frail character without her potions, like low Heath, or X0,75 damage. She could make more powerful potions the better the ingredients, which would give us something to do with all the late game extra boss drops (I have chests full with boss drops). Her potions could also have drawback once the potion effect ends. Her special item could be a cauldron that would work like a portable crockpot to make the potions, and when empty could be use like a snurtle shell to hide under. The scrap character Waverly would fit perfectly.

Waverly (Health 100, Sanity 300, Hunger 200)

Item: Trusty cauldron

- Exceptional at chemistry (potion making)

- Quite a frail ma'am (low damage and defense)

- Has nerves of steel (recovers sanity fast)

- iron belly (immune to potion drawbacks)

Potions:

-Defense elixir (X1,25 Defense for 8 min): 1 stone +1 red cap (raw)+ 1 ice + 1 berry

-Defense elixir + (X1,5 Defense for 6 min): 1 marble + 1 red cap (raw) + 1 honey + 1 morsel

-Defense elixir ++ (X2 Defense for 4 min): 1 steel wool + 1 red cap (raw) + electric milk + 1 phlerm

*Drawback after the defense boost is lost of hunger (-25, -50 and -100)

-Speed elixir (X1,25 Speed for 8 min): 1 stinger + 1 green cap (raw) + 1 ice + 1 carrot

-Speed elixir + (X1,50 Speed for 12 min): 1 feather + 1 green cap (raw) + 1 honey + birchnut

-Speed elixir ++ (X2 Speed for 16 min): 1 down feather + 1 green cap (raw) + 1 electric milk + 1 jelly beans

*Drawback after the speed boost is sleepiness (10 sec, 20 sec, sleepy and you fall sleep)

And so on....

I'm sure many people have already thought of a character something like this, but here's one of my ideas:

Amie-the vegetarian(average stats)

starting item: Makeshift Harp- can be played to temporarily recruit all friendly mobs on the screen. She gains sanity when near a recruited animal

  • Gains 20% more stats than the other characters from non-meat dishes
  • Loses 20-25 health and sanity points when eating a meat dish, and does a gagging animation
  • Can ride recruited beefalo for a short amount of time

That's what I have, but she might need another disadvantage.

I imagined a plant caracter (in fact, a scarecrow, just like the ones you can build, but living). He was able to feed himself with manure/rotten eggs/guano or rotten (with different degrees of hunger recovery, as the rotten is the equivalent of seeds for other caracters). I would him to come with  an unique built (a compost bin) wich can be used as a crockpot to make some recipe with fertilizer as ingredients.  Rain (and wetness) should be a way to recover health/sanity.

 

But now we have Wormwood :)

A scarecrow character sounds really fun! ive also been a huge fan of Waverly from the beginning.

An archetype thats not yet really been explored is a character thats extremely specialized/attuned to the caves. Even go so far as spawning in the caves and not being able to go up unless its night. Maybe a descendant of the Ancients. Some sort of Gollum character!
