tehhotdog
If I remember right, WX is immune to poison on Shipwrecked. It also makes no sense that he would be vulnerable to poison or hayfever, being a robot and all. Are there any plans to change this in Hamlet, or is there any logical explanation for him being affected by it? I can see people saying he would be OP if he is immune to poison and hayfever, but it really doesn't make sense that he's not already. Szczuku
No. He'd be too op Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98393-wx-78-and-poisons/#findComment-1113404 Share on other sites
ucw
I haven't come across gears in Hamelt. Might that make up for WX's immunity to poison and hayfever -- inability to upgrade and susceptibility to water? Seems that might even out, but I'm not calculating any numbers. FeNniX
It would be very weird if WX were immune to poison in shipwrecked but not in Hamlet. tehhotdog
According to the Don't Starve wiki, "In the Shipwrecked (SW) DLC, WX-78 is immune to Poison." I also tested it in Shipwrecked to make sure, and yes, he is immune to poison. Szczuku
Ok I can understand immunity to poison and gas jungle but immunity to hayfever- one of the main mechanics of lush season? That just sounds stupid. And don't forget that Hamlet's Thunderbirds are litterally a Wx-78 chargers so I don't think that he needs any buffs Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98393-wx-78-and-poisons/#findComment-1113469 Share on other sites
tehhotdog
It doesn't matter if it's a main mechanic of lush season, what matters is that it makes absolutely no sense and it's inconsistent with shipwrecked. He is a robot, he should not be affected by hayfever. Klei can find ways to counteract a buff like that easily, like the fact that gears just don't seem to exist. Well where is sense in robot even existing there. Or where's sense in Woodie curse. Or Webber? Or this whole game? Listen- Klei's not going to make wx-78 immune to hayfever, maybe to poison (but I'd doubt it) but deffinitelly not hayfever. So learn how to deal with it and don't expect wx-78 to just… robot his way through the entire game Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98393-wx-78-and-poisons/#findComment-1113647 Share on other sites
Zeklo
You can pretty much "a-wizard-did-it" away most WX-78 stuff. Immunity to poison? Well they don't have blood, so no problem. Vulnerable to pollen in the air? It clogs up their sensory receptors. Or whatever you wanna say. tehhotdog
I can deal with it, and I don't mind dealing with it, but there is still logic in a lot of things in the game and that is something that i'm surprised klei didn't do, since it is so logical. And this post was more about the poison anyway, not the hayfever. Hence the title Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98393-wx-78-and-poisons/#findComment-1113654 Share on other sites
SleepySheepy
I agree with both points here? If anything I'd like WX-78 to have maybe a bit more resistance to hayfever and poison? It just fits his character a bit, and while it is over powered and would make things easier, i think instead of arguing if it's a good idea or not, it might be better to discuss new mechanics that would balance it out and make WX-78 good on both fronts! (Resistant, but not Overpowered) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98393-wx-78-and-poisons/#findComment-1113655 Share on other sites

tehhotdog
A bit more resistant to hayfever is what i'm looking for really, at least removing the sneezing or something because it doesn't make sense for a robot to sneeze. If not that just immunity to poison on it's own, because the hayfever really isn't that much of an issue. The poison is my main problem, hence the title. That was my guess, though I have never seen them. And that will still act as a balance, because they aren't easy to acquire and cost oincs to get them. Also, rain is more problem in hamlet because of humid season and lightning strikes not that controllable, so sanity problems, or both together = easy death. Hamlet balanced out character pretty well to be fair. On 10/11/2018 at 8:42 PM, Szczuku said: Sense you say? Well where is sense in robot even existing there. Or where's sense in Woodie curse. Expelling foreign particles via sneeze makes more sense than a sudden electrical surge though. It's pollen, not something super conductive. Thieverpedia
Maybe the pollen is clogging its inner workings, making it susceptible to Hay Fever. But yeah, it needs to be immune to all forms of poison. It is a robot, after all.
