So whats next

Recommended Posts

My best is already covered with oxygen and I got 300k + worth of food and got enough exosuits to uncover all gayser.. The question is whats next? I think fun rating of the game starts to decline once you got exosuits and uncover all geysers.. Can you show me your solar farm setup?

Exosuits need a solid nerf, early clothing need a bit more power.

In current game I made run for exosuits, didn't even bother with digging that much, only some basic stuff around the base, was running like 4 or 5 people till exosutis research was ready, then just explored rest of the map using exosuits.

Anyway from colony management point the current game has not much to offer, but seems like people are having some fun with building a lot of machinery and overproducing everything for fun.

I remember getting to that point, so I tried to perfect every system I had, tried to find a suitable balance and I kind of did it. I also made a marvelous fertilizer sintethizer set up with transport rails working alone and pretty (until it was nerfed). My oxygen system cooled the air and working by itself with the Hidrogen it generated, Also made a way to cool down molten refined metal from a volcano and worked crudely but good. Also, started digging everything to get slime. Made a Huge slicket/molten slickster farm to sustain crude oil and petro. I couldnt make the Steam turbine work though.

You want designs for solar farms. Then you do have a goal, try to make your own before asking someone else to show you theirs, then compare.

I've got 240 hours and still have never built an exo suit. :3 Highest I've gotten was something like 480 cycles. I've still never even really messed with geysers except siphoning off some water now and again...

I really suck at this game but I manage to survive reeeeeeally long times.

Once you got exosuit it a start where your game looks like your playing in creative mode. You can virtually do anything

I have never built clothing, and I build exo suits mostly for the germs, my maintenance corridor is oxygenated, just a lot of germs.

But if it were me either start again and tweak the world gen to make it more fun, or like Johnny and FullMetal said, try to perfect your systems. I am just fiddling around with dual aquatuner cooling loop systems at the moment since my power grid seems to have taken some really strange steroids.

You're real problem it's not the exosuit, it's the fact you ask help for all your progression. You just copy/paste optimized set up on the forum without try to find by yourself.

Use your imagination, and you will have some entertainement for ever.

AMEN! I love reading this forum for design ideas and stuff, but I never copy any of it because that takes out the fun of failing and figuring it out for myself. I'm a hideous failure at this game, but at least I have another year before I'll get bored lol

Nah I am lazy if other are able to figure it out why waste my brain cells, I love this game because when you automate things and your base flourished because of it. I dont know why others are creating other some stuff and doesn't give you any benefit to it. If you do that your like a child that doesn't have a clear objective in your mind, you just do things because you do things.

I do not like failing and wanted it to be perfect.

That makes sense, but I'm not saying that I dont steal the concepts. I just don't copy/paste designs other people made as you're taking all the fun out of it. Not to mention you can copy/paste something without understanding anything about what is going on with that design. That prevents YOU from being able to ever come up with something on your own (or at least lowers your creativity in terms of game mechanics)

I stayed away from GATES forever. Never used one until this latest update as they made my brain hurt. However, I sat down, watched some videos, and now I've figured a way to use them to do Egg delivery which as far as I know I've never seen anyone else do, and its improved my base layout beyond my wildest dreams. All my eggs get delivered right where I want them as soon as they are hatched without any need of sweepers or rails, and I can even use it to "drop" wrangled critters into a drowning chamber for meat.

I'm happy you like save brain cells. I'm sure you sleep better at night than I do lol

You guys are fiddeling to much around with balance for my taste, at a point where no real objective exists.

I have to disagree slightly.  There is a real objective right now:  Survival.  For that objective, exosuits are overpowered and should be nerfed.  However, if the objective were to change, the exosuits may no longer be overpowered.  If they intend to create other goals, then they should probably leave exosuits alone.

Have you considered challenges?  Certain challenges make the game a constant struggle.  I currently play with miserable, fatalistic, accept every dupe (1 every 3 cycles), and all dupes must be promoted, and I keep going until one of them dies.

What does this do, Tell me more!

It burns a little less than 10kg oil per second, turns it to natural gas. Fuels 54 generators on The first stage, later more, uses about 0.1degrees Magma heat per cycle from that megapool. When its stabilised (co2 is the bottleneck+we havent yet got Steam/pW cooling stabilised yet, not enough wasted heat).. I will write about it in a thread.

Water... Cycle 180 around 60 dupes. 2 dry Steam vents.

I would create as much natural gas as is renewable and burn it constantly as a water source too.  I don't care about wasting power when I can create that much in a renewable fashion.

A bit of math:  One natural gas generator produces 40.5 kg water/cycle.  With 54 generators, you create 2187 kg/cycle of water, which is awesome.  It is enough to feed 36 dupes gristle berry forever (without Farmer's touch) OR enough oxygen for 32 duplicants using electrolyzers.

Also, you can use the water to run an oil well.  If you took all the water from the 54 generators (which use 4860 g/s nat gat) and applied it to oil wells, you can produce 12149.99 g/s of cure oil and 121.4 g/s of nat gas.  That's even more water if you can boil the crude oil.

Also, you can feed the CO2 to slicksters, who then produce eggs, so you can feed your dupes even more and produce more oil, which can produce more water!
