  • Duplicants should no longer drop ore inside/through the floor when switching tasks.
  • Falling ore now has a max velocity which should prevent it from falling through tiles.
  • Fixed a bug where perk attributes were sometimes not persisting after switching roles.
  • Fixed a problem with certain save files were stuck in an infinite load.

EDIT : forget this message, patch update has nothing to do with this!

May be unrelated, but this morning, restarting a save from yesterday after patch, I had the (nice) surprise of finding my 13 dupes very healthy with 100% immunity !! After two cycles working in a slime environement they still have 100% (97% for one) immunity. yesterday, I was struggling with only 3 or 5 fit to work. Bad surprise is all batteries at zero.

So this update caused a reset ?

May I expect my dupes to get bad (lower immunity) as before on long term ?

Before you open slime biome, research deodorizer. Spam them every 5 tile, when you dig into polluted area. Build a door to your base to get some overpressure of O² in the polluted zone(from deos). Use germ overlay to watch, where you place stuff (one tile away from germ), or desinfect loop will eat workflow.
Create a small waterpocket, with a storagelocker, set to slime , close by(sweep only for me / manual sweeping early game cycles.) . No emitting.
Then break only some slime solid blocks at once. When immunity drops below 80% use door permission to exclude dupe from that area.
Never had problems with germs, that way. Wash basin after toilet and before dining, helps a lot.

Hand sanitizers are much better and don't require pipes, they also last a very very very long time with little to none refill.

Sure but early game they are easy and someway "first step" for me. Toilet/wash bins, i do when i have water + :)

????

Thanks for the tips, but my idea was not to open a discussion on slime biome but why inbetween two play sessions my dupes got a full heath by miracle ? (in other words, does the update have something to do with it, since I did not notice this for any previous update)

EDIT : my bad, it seems reading and getting advice, such as the one you gave above, made my toxic biome quite safe, so since yesterday the germs are quite low. That's the explanation for my 100% immunity phenomena, nothing to do with the patch !

I wish it was more like "Duplicants should no longer drop ore when switching tasks" instead. The littering is sometimes rather uncomfortable, they could at least mark these things for sweeping.

especially when they drop small stacks of ice who melt quickly and create mysterious water puddles everywhere XD

It seems to me that something has changed recently regarding slimelung or germs in general and/or deodorizers. - I have much higher slimelung counts now in an old stable base where little has changed around the base and all outer work is done in exosuits.

Should deodorizes remove germs from oxygen (not PO)?

It also seems that slimelung is dying very slow in presence of chlorine.

As far as i'm aware - Deodorizers don't actually remove any germs at all, they just turn dirty stinking germ-filled PO2 directly into Oxygen. The presence of Oxygen then kills off the germs.

IIRC, many cycles ago, before TU, I was able to purify PO from morbs with deodorizers. Then I've switched to liquefying to avoid being dependent on sand. Now it does seem that deodorizers don't remove germs. They also won't touch other gases with germs.

Anyway, what probably happened is that there was a small pocket of PO somewhere low in the base, that slimelung somehow was there or got there and has multiplied and then got into the ventilation system together with CO2...

There were no germs before TU. Germs were introduced with Outbreak Update and IIRC deodorizers were never killing germs. A deodorizer will swallow the polluted oxygen bubble, split the germs between the created clay and oxygen, and spill the oxygen out. The only thing I am concerned about in deodorizers, though, is a small bit of polluted oxygen they often keep stored because it contains germs that keep multiplying and these are too distributed into further produced oxygen and clay, even if the deodorizer doesn't get any further germs from environment.
