Could you give ghosts something to do?

I beg your pardon? I truly don't get what you're trying to say.

First rule of blueprint collection: you don't get rid of unknown blueprints.

Second rule  of blueprint collection: you DON'T get rid of unknown blueprints.

One thing I found out entirely by accident, is thata ghost can change a blueprint after haunting it several times.

I have turned an 'unknown' blueprint in one of a meat effigy once.

It is truly unknown what made you do that. :/

But that knowledge was simply child's play anyway.

What are these unknown blueprints used in anyway? I though it was part of a mod, since I've only encountered them in modded servers.

I've been trying to find out, but all I get is 'that knowledge is beyond me.'.

Pardon my ignorance.

Ah, yes, my personal theory is that Unknown Blueprints are merely placeholders for recipes that are not yet in the actual game. No way of proving it, but it makes sense as you can read them unlike, say, trinkets.

How does that work? It sounds pretty cool.

Basically, player dies, and as long as the Survival Mode timer isn't going down, the player can haunt any mob-spawning structure, and there's a chance they'll be able to "possess" a mob from that structure.  Mobs have no inventory, and since they're possessed, a little glow of light around them.  Possessed mobs will die at the start of a new day, so they cant keep Survival servers open, and the current idea is to have them die if they leave the game, but currently that function isn't working.

In splatoon, while waiting for players to join, you can play little minigames while you wait. Something like that would be cool, maybe like a steampunky video game box for ghosts to play when they're board?

I kinda feel like going off to play video games for a little while as everyone else tries to survive your terrible ghost sanity drain is not exactly a deterrent to dying.

What if beating the mini game gave everyone a small sanity boost?

I feel like giving ghosts some (perhaps difficult or tedious) way to resurrect themselves (I know, touchstones already exist, but in addition to) would be a far better use of resources, and maybe relieve some of the stress caused by ghosts.

Not to mention, maybe some people wouldn't just immediately quit upon dying.

For a tedios task for ghost to resurrect: find all the Roses in the World then haunt ALL of them.

In short: haunt ALL ROSES to revive.

Now, please stop this nonsense talk about stuff to do as ghost. Changing caps and hounds are enough superpower.

Personally, as I spend most of my time in game w/ close friends, I don't spend time as a ghost.

But I can certainly understand that being a ghost for an extended period of time is boooooring, lol.

And if you can't find a touchstone or people willing to revive you, there's really only 1 option:  Quit.

Seems really dangerous to encourage people to be ghosts longer in Survival where they're a sanity drain.  I sorta feel the current system is fine -- barring some changes to remove grief opportunities, which would mean letting ghosts interact less with the world, not more.

I mean it's a survival game and ghosts are the dead state.  It shouldn't be considered a benefit in any way, and it shouldn't be something you can use to grief people.

Just asking, if a ghost is in Shard A and living players are in Shard B, does the sanity drain apply? Not sure here.

Yes, sanity drain is applied on both shards because they're connected. Before they were properly linked it wouldn't happen.

Makes sense, thanks.

There is one thing that is crutically needed for ghosts: spooky dancing.

Heh. It reminds me of one session on Giddy Up! Giddy requested: 3 hours, 57 minutes, 17 deaths and 17 telltale hearts, are done by my character with 111 health to the tune of said ghosts chanting: "Ghost dance, ghost dance!"...

i miss being able to spawn treeguards. :( they always avenged my deaths

... unless i just have really bad luck with haunting...

I do remember the first time one of our friends played w/ us, she kept dying over and over again and I had basically whittled my health away to nothing reviving her.

Then finally she was attacked by hounds and in the process of trying to save her yet again, I finally kicked the bucket.  I was playing modded Maxwell at the time (before he was added), and as soon as she died she stole my Dark Sword and ran off w/ it.

"....why is the world all spooky?  Hey, why am I going crazy???"

I calmly told her that she had stolen my Dark Sword and she wasn't worthy to wield it, so she should put it back, but of course this caused her to refuse to let go of it and run off while slowly going insane.

I asked her to rez me by crafting a heart, and she said "Shut up, nerd!  The sword is mine now!"

So I calmly began haunting the trees around her and BAM, mature Treeguard stands up and starts.. well, not really chasing, but I guess... shambling after her.

Not to be deterred (since she had my mighty sword and all), she spun around to fight it.

....until I haunted it again and set him on fire!

Ah, good times.  I will never forget that night of insane Wolfgang being chased through the forest by a giant flaming Treeguard.

In the end, my fiance rezzed me and I pried my Dark Sword out of her burnt, crispy fingers.

Good times.
