SilentZ9 Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 Ok so i was on day 18 and was just walking through the swamp with 11 pigs and alot of valuable stuff, then 2 spines come up out of nowhere and both attacked ONCE, and i got killed instantly while walking and i didnt stop either.. For just walking through the swamp it shouldnt be tht easy to get killed especially when just 2 taps and im dead... It annoys me how easy it is to get killed now and it shouldnt be that easy not to be killed either, but right now its too easy to get killed. Just make the monsters a little weaker please. Like: 1 spine attack takes a quarter instead of half ur life.. Marak Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 Swamps are currently the most dangerous biome/terrain type by far. It's best to stay out of them until you have a Spear, a Log Suit and/or Football Helmet, and/or a group of Pig Friends to help you. If you can't get any of those (or don't know how yet), I'd steer clear of swamps. If you absolutely must cross one, try to stick to the roads, as those tend to have very few Tentacles near them. urteem Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 if you were on day 18 and wandering through the swamp with absolutely no armour on... that really isn't the fault of the devs. Or the game. The swamp is SUPPOSED to be a dangerous place. Me, I'm always on my toes watching for telltale signs of tentacles in the swamp. Look for bubbling under the surface of the bog, as that's a sign of tentacles. Contrary to what these guys say, I usually go to swamps really early in game to start stockpiling reeds ASAP. It's not tough to survive... as long as you stay alert and attentive. Point is, it's a tough game, and the swamp is one of the toughest parts. Be careful. The main purpose of its difficulty is because you're supposed to learn from dying. There are no instructions to the game (official ones, anyway, forums/wiki don't count lol), no tutorial, nothing; all you get is a crafting list and are told not to starve. You learn the game yourself, and a lot of learning is done by dying...a lot. Some people get the hang of it quicker than others, but eventually it'll come naturally to you and you won't even think twice about it. The things that usually kill you will eventually be the things you hunt down and want to find because of either the challenge or maybe their loot, who knows. Point is, keep playing and you'll learn the game like the back of your hand, it's made that way lol. And if you do ever need to consult an issue with something or have a question, you can always search the forums or the wiki for an answer, and if you can't find an answer after searching create a post about it. We're a great community and love helping people. and some love bacon wayyy too much...
