Epic Whale! Enter the Kilowhale! (Literally)

Recommended Posts

A new explorable sub-area like the volcano and caves, the Kilowhale is found in a large patch of deep water, issuing forth a large number of bubbles.

If the player approaches too close, the Kilowhale surfaces! A titan of monumental size, bigger than the Kraken. If the player does not flee immediately, it opens it's colossal maw and sucks the player inside, slamming it's jaws shut with terrible finality.

Inside the belly of the beast functions like a familiar dungeon, a maze of debris, guts, great seawater passages flooded like viaducts and islands of flotsam, meaty organs of island-like size and even above-ground terrain that has been swallowed in ages past.

Hazards could include acidic floodwaters on islands, giant parasites, basically anything from the surface and a tribe of Jonah-like stomach dwelling creatures.

In a twist on the previous dungeon format, you can't leave by the entrance. You've got to find your way to the blowhole, where the Kilowhale will send you and your boat flying out to land nearby, hopefully never to repeat the experience. (Unless you missed some sweet loot.)

Its a good idea, when you get gobbled by the whale you end up with perhaps 50% sanity loss compared to 15% cause by wormholes, and thus you really need to manage your sanity incase you wish to be devoured. also there is complete darkness with perhaps some form of light source such as bioluminescence and the day goes on as it should outside  as well.

I kinda thought this would have something to do with electricity, but evidently not.

Nice idea btw!

Well you expect less and it seems like the post amped up your expectations.

Now we just need to immagine watt you could find inside such a magnifficient beast.

As for how the insides of the Whale could look like. It's really hard tbh there aren't a lot of games that have Organic Dungeons or at least not to such a degree i guess the best i can think of are the insides of the Leviathan in Borderlands 2 Captain Scarlett campain.

Still though i like this idea a lot specialy because it would utilize a lot of the unused space in the Ocean by having a giant dark shadow just swimming past by immagine the suspense of what this might be.

Sea urchins

In places like london people call kids that live on the streets "street urchins" but there are also prickly poisonous and round sea creatures called "sea urchins" so they could be a mix of sea urchins and street urchins

Pfft, that's perfect. Works as either a Rock Lobster or Bunnyman equivalent.

Little spikey merm-like creatures. Maybe they hurt you if you attack them in melee.
