Rezzing on Tentacles needs a change

Recommended Posts

So I just died to some tentacles, life amulet landed right on top of them. I used it to rez and the tentacles came out before I was even alive and started hitting me before I got my feet on the ground, so I pretty much died without being able to move. Can this please be changed? They shouldn't start coming out of the ground until you're actually able to move.

That reminds me: lets say I attune myself to a Meat Effigy and die at night. Do I automatically res and get killed again by Charlie or what?

This reminds me when once I died as Wolfgang by tentacles because of his 'strength change' animation.

Boy, I remember being quite pissed that day.

Poor Wolfgang. Yeah, it sucks to get wimpy at the wrong times.

No but you do have to wait until morning comes and then click the meat effigy button.

Yeah, meat effigies got changed in DST. They no longer cost max hp to make (or meat for some reason), but now cost 40 hp like a telltale heart. If you have a meat effiy, your ghost form will have a meat effigy button to revive yourself at will.

The problem here seems to be the lack of a sleep state for tentacles. Almost every enemy in the game (Rabbits, Pigs, Merms, Spiders, Bunnymen, bosses) has a sleeping or dormant state. Tentacles' aggressiveness is a part of their personality, but this should not override the use of an item designed to cause resurrection. Maybe not sleeping, but some other sort of dormant state could be implemented only when a Life-Giving Amulet (and maybe a Pan Flute too) is used in its vicinity.

well, this could either be solved by making you invulnerable during the animation(or not even targetable) or making it so that getting hit cancels the animation. It's always annoying when you die or lose stuff to something that's not really your fault.

The resurrection system is fine, pay more attention and get better at the game.

Of course, instead of reporting problems we could all just git gud.
