(Tsk tsk, stealing from Mena and wxps, Battal? For shame.)

"Well good, 'cause how am I supposed to be a pirate if I don't have a plank to make people walk on!" Kate exclaimed with more seriousness than an eight year old has ever mustered.

It was adorable.

Kade was just standing in the corner, rolling his eyes.

"Now, then. I'm sure you're aware of our little deal. Or, rather, the runt's deal." Wiffleball responded by shaking his head "no". The shadow started to hiss before stopping itself, considering for a moment, and finally speaking again. "Never mind that. What you need to know is, I...promised the runt I'd assist you in gathering the Shards. To achieve this goal, I am going to extend the use of my abilities to you." Although Wiffleball couldn't see the shadow's face, he had the distinct impression that it was grinning.

"You've used a few of those before, on accident - speech through minds, shaping fuel and the like. And from here on out, you'll be able to do any of those things whenever you wish."  It briefly chuckled, then continued. "Just be warned. A shadow's power corrupts both the mind and the soul. Use it recklessly, and you just might find yourself lost to the darkness. And while keeping your consciousness alive is a priority of mine...it is not a necessity."

"Consider this your formal introduction." With those final words, the presence on Wiffleball's shoulders lifted, leaving him alone once more.

Angelle ran downstairs and grabbed her squeaky bone, bring it over to Noctimus.

"Alrighty, I'll see if I can get a few more sardines, and maybe something better..." Famen said, throwing his line back in.

Wiffleball stood up, a little confused, but suddenly very eager to rejoin the others. He didn't exactly feel like climbing down, so instead, he steadied himself, then jumped downwards. A moment later, he bounced against the deck, then a few more times, before finally lying still.

The dragon sat on it's hind legs and raised it's front ones into the air, mimicking Trevor's surrender motion.

It was also adorable.

Kate saw something orange drop out of the sky and bounce on the ship. She saw it was Wiffleball and grinned, running over to him and helping him up before trying to put on a threatening scowl, which is hard when you're already smiling, and pointed her stick sword at him. "Alright ye scallywag, join me crew or walk the plank!"

(It's funny how 95% of Battal's posts become popular in this rp.)

(Don't think of it as getting popular, think of it as...)

(Wait, I don't think that works there.)

"There."  Meritursas says, heading down through a large opening in the rocks.  Inside is a large chamber, big enough at least for Meritursas to fit in at full size.  Piles of massive bones litter the ground, perhaps from whales or other unknown denizens of the deep.  A few clusters of bioluminescent plants shine light across the room, revealing a door about 8 feet in height.  It seems to be made from wood, and it is supported by large iron braces.  In the center of the door is a deteriorating brass doorknob, which looks as though something crushed it almost in half.  Clearly scars from its many battles with Meritursas.

Wiffleball stood up straight and saluted, happy to join Kate's game. Hmm, but if he was going to be a pirate, he'd have to look the part... He considered this for a bit, then held up his paw before running into the cargo hold. About a minute later, he returned wielding a golden machete with both paws, just barely managing to hold his balance against the blade's weight.
